I will listen to people fighting Eccles’ corner as I think he’s a decent solid midfielder who has improved and had the odd very good game, but I won’t entertain any arguments from anybody who says he doesn’t give the ball away far too often - he does, and it more often than not costs us...

I didn’t because they weren’t first in line to defend the cross, or even second or third and if they were I believe one of them would’ve cleared the ball in, but I also believe I would’ve headed that ball clear, it was a comedy of missed headers and then a mass panic I do agree that Kitching...

I mean to be fair, the first goal comes from at least two, possibly three players (Eccles, Bassette and maybe Rudoni) missing a simple header clear - awful awful defending

of course it is, if it hadn’t happened and we drew the game you would say it was unlucky we were lucky they made a mistake in the last minute we capitalised on, we can be lucky and play well too, they aren’t mutually exclusive

I’m not sure anyone is pretending anything, we were lucky to win the game because if it wasn’t for a bad back pass and lapse in concentration we wouldn’t have won it, so we were lucky Oxford gave us the winning goal dominant or not, we don’t win that game without a stroke of luck, it’s fact

yeah maybe, but also I like that slightly selfish confidence in a forward - especially considering last season at the start he had none of that and just wanted rid of the ball whenever it came anywhere near him there is a happy medium though, which I guess turns a good player into a great one

agree, but if Allen had stood firm and not had a rush of blood to press, and completely miss, the ball and the tackle there would’ve been far less space and maybe Spence wouldn’t have made the run…. maybe….. I think MR alluded to it in post match interview when he said certain players decided...

MVE didn’t do a great job, but it all started from Allen pressing when he had absolutely no need to, leaving a man free and a great big hole in behind..and MVE had two men occupying him to be fair, but I take your point and add to that the speed of thought and play of a premier league team...

Allen had a decent first half, but he was completely at fault for the first goal, left a massive gap by pushing on to the man and you could see the goal coming after that, poor decision and he was off the pace the whole of the second half, and particularly after the subs

I really don’t care too much about this result, if anything more about the performance, which has been pretty impressive against a top half premier league team…. BUT Jamie Allen is a huge weak link in that team, and also weirdly the changes fucked it, particularly taking Rudoni and Wright off...
