Another possibility is Max Bird. If I’m honest I’ve never seen him play but out of contract at the end of the season. Bird, Sheaf, Eccles, Styles would be a great starting point for midfield depth.

Just not as a 2. Positionally I think Eccles struggles slightly in a 2 as he pushes up quite aggressively and left us exposed to counter attacks quite a few times. With 3 in the middle now I can see him going from strength to strength.

CM absolutely the priority. Beyond that maybe a winger if 433 is here to stay. Then it’s dependent on whether we have any leave. I’ve got a feeling that some players’ days are numbered: Fadz, Kelly, Palmer.
