Yeah, by what measure is 19 goals in a season a failure? All due respect to Robins, he hasn’t done the play any favours by chopping and changing. We’ve got 3 strikers that are not firing because they’re not getting a good run in the side. Well, Bassette has had a decent run in the side and so...

Scored 19 goals last season, what are you talking about? He's a striker, give him chances, he scores and I don’t really care about the other bits.

    Lati

First shot in the second half too. If we don’t sign a CB in Jan, we ain’t finishing in the top half.

    Lati

I left shortly after that goal in disgust. It was outside of the box, he had to go for the ball (or more) even if he fouls him. Thomas probably could’ve done a bit better but at least ushered him in Lati’s path. Seriously, I think this goal is the worst we’ve conceded this season for a purely...

He has one goal, it’s ridiculous. He’s energetic and works hard and I appreciate that. However, he lacks the ruthlessness (and a right foot) to start this season imo. His movement in the box needs to be refined because he can be a bit naive. Simms scored 19 goals in half a year, just give the...

We would have been better off with Robins

The issues are on the pitch and the first person to get the chop had to be Robins. Not DA nor Dr Roberts. Last season, we had 2 20 goal a season strikers, one of the best midfielders in the league. Added one of L1s best outfield players, Rudoni, WBA’s top scorer, a promising striker in...

Agreed. Hes a solid player, no more and no less and the hero worship of him is a bit strange. Then again, many English football fans love a blood and thunder, average player. Agreed. In all honesty, it was a drab game and overheard a few Baggies fans saying we looked shit. In my view, WBA...

    Liam Kitching

They’re a team stat, that is a given. Defence is a team effort and that trend is that we keep the most clean sheets with MVE-Thomas-Kitching-Bidwell. Binks has 3 clean sheets in nearly 40 games, for the most part, he’s playing with the same players as Kitching (Bidwell-Thomas-MVE). Back to...

Unhinged. For us, we’ve kept more clean sheets playing Kitching than Lati that’s the bottom line and Lampard will see sense after seeing Lati’s defending last night.

    Liam Kitching

It’s irrelevant, your point about Lati playing for playoff teams is just wrong. Kitching has actually played in a team that’s played playoff, albeit for Barnsley in L1. Their back 3 was Thomas-Andersen-Kitching and we tried to sign all 3 players that summer and was one of the best in the league...

He actually hasn’t, he played 8 games that season Swansea got in the playoffs. The season after, his break out season, Swansea finished lower than us conceding 68 goals and 64 the season after (2022/23) before joining us. In fact, he hasn’t played a lot of CB in a back 4 outside of playing for us.

Thomas aside, Kitching still has the most clean sheets of our defenders. If we had a striker on the bench who had more goals than our starters, it would be strange to not start them. In fact, the reverse is what we do with Bassette…

You can literally count Binks and Lati’s clean sheets on one hand in the games they’ve played in 30-40 games. I can accept the role tactics play in this stat, you look at goals like WBA’s 2nd and that’s a piece of horrific defending from Lati.

It’s a coaching and tactical thing. There are too many players whose form has nosedived to be a coincidence.

We would have been better off with Robins

The way we were playing under Robins, we weren’t going to do much better for the 4 game stretch we had without him including Cardiff. Robins has failed to beat WBA so not sure what would’ve been different.

Tactically, we looked alright today. Created a lot of openings but lacked clinical finishing. Their first goal was fortunate but the 2nd was just bad defending from Thomas and Lati. It’s time for Kitching to rejoin the side imo.

I’m feeling bullish about tonight despite our bad record at the Hawthorns. Cutting it fine getting there from work though!

By the same logic, he also isn’t being undermined which is the kind of thing that’s been insinuated several times. Be it certain signings, coaching hires/fires, coaching structure and much more. That quote is the most innocuous thing to say in the context and being twisted to justify this idea...

    Transfer Rumour January transfer window

This sounds conspiratorial. Both MR and Dean Austin are on record that MR sets the profile he wants, Austin finds players, gives a shortlist to MR, MR takes his fancy from the options provided and Austin requests money from DK. This is simplified of course. The process isn’t MR sees new...
