Well no because any CB will mostly play short easy passes between each other and the GK/FB. So their stats are skewed. They need to be good on the ball precisely because they see so much of it. Or they need to quickly move it to people who are.
ive got him at 79%:

And I don’t think Kitching is much better tbh. Overall I want at least one new CB in the summer. Two if we go up :P
Do I need to break out his pass completion stats again?
He was once again the outfield player with the lowest pass completion today and of his 12 long balls only 4 were accurate. Which is pretty standard for him from what I’ve seen.
I think he’s our best keeper and I think he’ll get better and if he can play like he did today but more so we can be very effective at beating the press. He’s not perfect but the stats show he’s a good keeper at this level ignoring the on the ball stuff.
I think the control is coming with Grimes and the 433. Last three we’ve started to see it for spells during games. I think the spell with five at the back was more spirit than quality but we’ve got confidence now and better quality players coming back.
If we lose to everyone above us, beat everyone bottom half and draw with anyone top half but below us, we get W5 D2 L3. That’s a fairly pessimistic take and gets us 73.
That’s not the run and little aimless tap as he’s about to get tackled tho. Thats what I’m on about. Him lumping it long is fair enough, even a broken clock is right twice a day. He’s a goal threat and a no nonsense CB, he’s not a ball playing CB.
I mean we just have. We’ve not blown anyone away, only won 2 by more than a goal and have had maybe three or four good halves of football throughout. Doesn’t matter tho cos we’re fifth.
Aim of the game has to be staying top of the pile going into the three game run of top four sides. We’ll probably drop a couple of places over that. We’re ahead of schedule for 70pts though and that’s what matters.
Yeah we had all swings early in the season and all roundabout last now (if that’s the way it works). Better to be lucky than good. I’ve long maintained this division is more about momentum than quality outside the top three or four.
