We started slow and Stoke had the better of the first 13 minutes but then we completely controlled the half. Second half, it was even until they got back into it where they could’ve won it to be fair. We did also come close where Lati broke forward and botched a cross to Haji which would’ve...

We should’ve been at least 3-0 up going into the half… The first half performance was far more dominant than their 2nd half performance. Stoke weren’t great at all and you can see why they’ve been so poor lately. Even Robins admitted their 1st goal ‘came from nothing’ and their second goal...

We’ll have to wait and see really because Haji isn’t 100% yet. With Sakamoto playing so well and BTA having just come on, the most natural change to make would’ve been Simms. Likewise with the Oxford game. With how direct we’ve been at times lately, you probably want Haji and Simms getting in...

Exactly that and some of the matches have been against bottom half/relegation contention teams that you’d really expect them to pick up 2-3 more teams.

I agree but not sure why BTA remained at LW when they were on the pitch. BTA is a good striker for this level, he’s just not a good winger imo.

He’s just not a winger and we probably need to stop playing him there. Haji looks better out wide in a 4-2-3-1 and I just feel we lose a lot in the last 2 games he came on for Simms.

I’ll freely admit that my perception of them was rooted about 3-4 games ago. They’ve been horribly inconsistent and dropped points against teams they ought to beating and now that have a tough run in. They’ve been inconsistent all season and they’re probably punching below their weight.

Stoke played how we did earlier in the season. They defended their box horribly and all 3 our goals were pretty avoidable. They got the rub of the green for a) the penalty and b) their equaliser that was offside. One thing that irked me about me about his pre-match press conference was when we...

Exactly, same with WBA too so the teams around us won’t necessarily be picking up that many points. We’re well in the driving seat.

They do have arguably the best striker in the league but actually, I agree with you. Their window of opportunity was getting wins v Oxford, Hull, Derby and Blackburn. They drew all 4 games and lost to PNE. Their next 6 games: Sheff W (h), Bristol (a), WBA (h), Plymouth (a), Sunderland (h) and...

Agreed assuming Haji could go the distance without risking him getting injured. Haji’s best snippet was when he picked the ball up at LW and was otherwise anonymous. His position was good for the chance where Lati crossed the ball in but the final ball was lacking. No idea how we didn’t have a...

Norwich and WBA are the danger teams for me. So Norwich drawing was good for us and we’ve got a nice buffer now and really should finish above them. You can’t rest on your laurels, but we really should be looking at catching up to 4th place. A win v Derby and Sunderland could close the gap to...

It’s probably closer to £100 and the cost to me is the income tax in that value. In reality, it’s probably £20 a month, if that when I account for pre-tax deductions. Now, is that a good trade? Absolutely. On my last NHS appointment, the doctor apologised because I was lost in the system...

GB Energy was always a bad idea and it took less than a year for the Government to cotton on.

It’s not the same thing, but Germany’s mixed system does collect 7% of employee’s pre-tax salary and that’s matched by employers. One of Germany’s systems issue is ironically an oversupply of staff, equipment and so on. Particularly in Europe, there’s a mix of public, non-profit and private...

Our taxes aren’t low, the tax burden is growing and is near war-time levels despite us being in peace-time. Onto the NHS, the health outcomes are objectively worse, the pay and working conditions is poor. Even so, if what you say is true, the logical conclusion is to expand the private sector...

You’re quite right on that point, hence I suggested tax breaks for providing it. The government has got to think creatively on how to make meaningful supply-side reforms to get as many people off NHS backlogs as possible. The natural monopolies point I don’t particularly disagree on, I don’t...

Best 11 since return to the championship

In fairness, I had their time at Coventry specifically on my mind rather than what they’ve gone on to do. Even so, Maatsen started more often than Bidwell when he was on loan with us.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You know how markets work, generally, the best providers and/or products win in an open market. If you can only compete for a contract every ‘x’ years, it’s not a free market and it’s the worst of both worlds, an expensive and poor service. This probably applies to the NHS as well as the...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You keep fixating on this point. I’m not advocating the NHS franchising its services to private providers. To make a clear delineation, I’m supportive of incentivising people/businesses to get PHI and they go to private hospitals/healthcare providers that is completely independent and outside...
