A justified point. Too many people too quick though to listen to the wittering on of pundits on Match of the day saying “all we want is consistency” which I’d impossible to achieve regarding referee decisions in 10 or so Premier League matches across a weekend.

Ah the old pundits favourite go to line! It’s a myth that “all we want is a bit of consistency” across the board. The reality is that if you gave ten referees one incident to look at that they would no doubt differ on opinions and interpret it differently.

Yes-if only to see if he can do it at this level as it’s quite clear that Shipley cannot. Both probably should be shown the door in the summer.
