Yeah it’s why I’m pretty chill on demanding for example Dasilva and Latibeaudiere never play for us again. But I do think it’s what sets the top three aside is the ability to chop and change with not much impact on the quality.
Said before if the money was there I’d want: GK, CB x 2, RB, LB, CM x 2, RW, ST most of that is replacing squad players.
But whether we’ve got the cash for a noticeable upgrade on the likes of Lati, Eccles, BTA, etc is a fair question.
Just looking at Leeds who sell out 27k STs a year in a 39k ground with around 3k away fans. So that’s about 27/36 or 75% cap on STs.
Translate that to us and we have I think 29k home fans so a similar ST cap would be just under 22k. I think we sell that next year if we didn’t already this year.
This. We’re lacking options up front and at fullback, which are both areas you want high energy and the ability to refresh. First team is probably only a CB/LB short in theory but beyond that we’re thin.
This is the real issue with Wilson is we will have to abandon the high line I think. Though that may be a blessing in disguise with two games we need to draw and a knock out competition coming up
🤷🏻♂️
They contributed as much as the other ten players on the pitch in those games.
An award for most saves or highest prevented xG I’d be all over. I think Wilson did OK there that season on those but since has been dreadful. Anyone expecting the second coming of Gordon Banks tomorrow will be in...
At least you’d have shown some ability by getting into the right positions. Clean sheets have been invented to give GKs something like goals like assists were invented for midfielders. Assists are stupid for a variety of reasons but still infinitely better than clean sheets for an individual...
Top scorers actually score the goals. You can’t get top scorer without ever touching the ball. The same isn’t true about golden glove. Any award you could win without ever touching the ball is a stupid award.
Thing is a good organised defence is like a good referee, if they’re doing their job well you barely notice them. And mistakes aren’t punished so easily or happen so often.
532 isn’t sustainable IMO. We gave up so much and couldn’t play some of our better players. Stodging the defence isn’t an ability to set it up. Under Robins we never looked right with four ATB until Lawrence came in IMO. I just think it’s a specific skill set most managers don’t have, especially...
is that true about ticket prices?
just because I remember someone with a twenty year old ST price list and they’d barely risen. match Day I can believe but no idea what they were twenty years ago as I’ve always has an ST
