    Our midfield

We’ve beat them twice this season…

    Champions League 24/25

That’s crazy. Yamal is a generational talent but I do worry he’ll burn out because it’s two long season for him! In the 2 games I seen him, he was genuinely one of the best players on the pitch in both games.

    Champions League 24/25

I really rate Gavi! He and Pedri are genuinely class midfielders in possession! Yamal, I’d love to see his numbers benchmarked v Messi. It must be close!
  4. Mucca Mad Boys

    Champions League 24/25

My worry is that he’ll fizzle out like Gavi did somewhat. I’ve watched him play twice and each time he was a joy to watch. Well, not so much the first time because it was v England but he is undoubtedly the premier talent in European football right now!

    Champions League 24/25

I’d like to see Inzaghi in the Prem. He is, in my view, the most underrated manager in European football. The football Inter play is so versatile, you have to admire it. He’s lead a quiet revolution in the way he utilises 5-3-2 and utilises his CMs in build up play. Objectively, they have a...

    Champions League 24/25

I’ll be honest, most neutral games I watch, I rarely take too much interest in the games. I’m all in on Cov and England and that is it for most games of football. So this game has been a fantastic display of elite football. Barca are the better team, imo but Inzaghi is a vastly underrated...

    Champions League 24/25

I went to the Barca game the night before our game v Sheff U and whilst it was against inferior opposition (Osasuna), they played such a controlling, technical passing game you could not admire it. There are times when we try to be ‘controlling’ and it gets a bit boring. With Barca, seemingly...

    Champions League 24/25

Genuinely one of the only neutral games this season that’s had me off me of my seat! This is top class football! It’s why we watch the game!

    Sunderland AFC

Momentum is everything in the Championship generally… particularly so in the playoffs. I am confident we won’t slip up at home and then we position ourselves to get the required result away at their ground.

    Champions League 24/25

Was just saying this to my guys. It has been end to end and both teams slugging it out like old skool heavyweight boxers!

    Champions League 24/25

I’d love a Tottenham v Man U final and Tottenham win it. The best thing for Spurs, come what may is to get rid of Ange.

Not getting a head of ourselves ….

If we won, you’d have the worse sense of FOMO you’ve ever experienced. I do worry if we lost 3 Wembley trips on the trot it will become a ‘thing’ that we can’t win there.

    "Underlying numbers"

There no reason we can’win the playoffs. We even have the most points of all the playoff teams since Xmas. Without being complacent, we should expect to beat Sunderland and then it’s just a one-off game to go up. It’s definitely doable.

Match Thread Coventry v Sunderland Championship Playoff 1st Leg Friday 9th May

Over two legs, I think we’ll batter Sunderland. They won’t want to be playing us away in the first leg at all.

    Play Off Final Holiday Clash

I’ve made a huge mistake… I’m flying out for the home leg only… It will be a cracking 2 leg leg but I 100% expect us to batter Sunderland at home… SIDE NOTE: some northern lads/laddette’s have backed us in the semis which is JOKES!!!

    Schadenfreude

I’d have liked Plymouth to stay up because it’s a really nice away day. Glad Cardiff has fucked off.
  17. Mucca Mad Boys

    Schadenfreude

Logistically, it’s an easy away day… it’s just long! I’m happy they went down because they gave it stacks after they beat us. The whole ‘staying down’ looks a bit silly when we’re in the playoffs and they’re fucked off back to L1.
  18. Mucca Mad Boys

    Sakamoto

Sakamoto (and/or Sheaf) is probably the best player in the squad in winning the ball/tackling when joining a tackle as a second man. It’s one of those niche roles that managers are increasingly doing where they deliberately leave a player or two to effectively mark two players simultaneously...
  19. Mucca Mad Boys

    Sakamoto

Sakamoto’s defensive work was impressive today. It’s a really smart tactical tweak from the management to have Sakamoto defend really narrowly to support the CMs. Credit to MVE and Sakamoto today, they covered a lot of ground between them.

    Our midfield

It’s a team of good individuals that don’t necessarily complement one another. They’ve got some cracking players on their day.
