    Because they and their benefits are ignored / taken for granted by younger generations. We didn’t have a land line at home until I was 19. Kids have devices these days.

    Get a paper round. Encourage the mother to get a part time job (as many did when I was younger). Gives you an opportunity to be totally responsible for child care for a period of time.

    Dependent on the higher earner’s salary. Madness that if one earns over £60,000 some or all may need to be paid back whereas a couple earning £59,999 each don't have to make repayments.
