    Championship thread 24/25!

My fear too, they do owe us one. And typically they'll finally do it in a massive game 😫

    Championship thread 24/25!

On paper, if we can beat Sunderland and somehow end up with Bristol or Middlesbrough in the final, it's the only way I can see us gaining promotion. We'd still be the underdogs, but I favour Bristol to beat Burnley/Leeds/Sheffield more than us, and we'd have A chance against them at Wembley...

    Championship thread 24/25!

IF we win tomorrow, they're 5 points off with 5 games left. 2 teams would have to bottle it, otherwise they'd have to win 4 and draw 1 to have any chance. We need to do the business tomorrow night though...

    Championship thread 24/25!

If Bristol win and we win tomorrow, that pretty much puts WBA out of our reach at 5 points off us - if we throw that away we aren't making it anyway. If they draw, it keeps it tight...just depends if we think Bristol are going to continue winning.

    When did it die out/disappear?

I think I can do one slightly more recent, away at Stevenage when we had McGoldrick. It's also the last time I can remember absolutely terrorising the opposition goalkeeper all half, like we used to in the West End, probably due to how close that away end is to the pitch and feels like 1k of...

    Final 6

I think 3 wins and a draw would just about do it given everyones' fixtures, on the basis that we avoid defeat Vs WBA, and Bristol don't consistently keep winning, given their tough fixtures. If we can get them before the Middlesbrough game them we will know what we need out of that game. It...

Match Thread Sheffield United - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 28th Mar

The difference with Vik is clear, he went to a top European side, playing European football, with potential to win trophies (and with him, they did - won the league) and play in the Champions League. It was a clear and obvious step up. Also, he's gone to the right place to prove himself and...

    Aidy Boothroyd

Injuries to key players for his system was what did it for him, he built a side to play a certain way and (whether you liked it or not) it was working and getting consistent results here for the first time in a long time. Ben Turner and Lee Carsley getting injured long term weakened the spine...

The ghost of O’Hare finally laid to rest?

Whilst I do think Rudoni is the better overall player, I often feel O'Hare is misunderstood and unfairly judged on goals and assists. Other than that spell he had last season, he's never been a goalscorer. He was actually one of our most important defensive players, especially before his injury...

Best 11 since return to the championship

Seeing as Ostigard has a Serie A title winners medal and has played Champions League football, I really hope you're right re. Thomas' ceiling! 🤩

    Im at the point now

Hopefully Plymouth and Luton are already down or safe when we play them and Middlesbrough's season's over so they're all on the beach. End of season games get incredibly easier/harder depending on the context.

    Songs we sing

The good, old fashioned 'Shall we sing a sing for you', 'do you ever sing a song' or 'you're not singing anymore' are better and louder than football in a library

Yeah, would be a great return. 3 or 4 points would be great from these 3.

Yeah, hope we have a go at them, especially the home ones. I think we'll make the playoffs, but need to prove we can beat this level of team if we're going to get past the semis or beyond

Im posting Something positive about frank lampard

Yeah, the next one is set up to be a draw or worse I feel... But we'll see! I really want to see us beat one of Sunderland, Sheffield United or Burnley. That's the only unanswered question Lampard has left I think - beating a really good team. He's only really had Leeds in the league so far...

Does anyone know if 8 wins from 9 is a record? I know winning 6 on the bounce is a record, but I can't remember us ever returning 24 points from 27... That's prime Man City esque dominance, that

    Jack Rudoni

My mistake, it didn't hit the post. It was against Swansea at home and was deflected in off a defender, it was going wide.

    Jack Rudoni

Didn't he have a shot from outside the box that hit the post, then the keeper and in, went down as an own goal? He did all of the work for that goal. Would have been his first goal for the club if it wasn't credited to the keeper

    Viktor Moving on

For sure, I'm not doubting his ability or potential longevity one bit. Just in terms of his transfer value, his next is almost certainly going to be his largest due to his age. Unless he smashes it so hard at PSG/wherever next season that Madrid, Man City or someone come in with a massive bid...
