    Brown, Ince & Robins

Definitely Robins for me. Just a hunch but he feels right for us at this moment. At the very least I think he would stop the rot and get us challenging at the upper half of the table, he seemed to have a big impact at Rotherham and Barnsley (when he first took over at least, and I think he left...

May have been alluded to before ...

I've heard Brown has mates at Sky Sports and they announced the story to hype up his chances. I suspect he thought they'd be a lot of support behind him!

    Phil Brown

Adams did too. Been down this road many times before. Just because a manager achieved promotion at another club doesn't always mean they are equipped to replicate it here. There is a big issue at Coventry City with our ingrained losing mentality and poor standards, that most managers have...

    Phil Brown

Aside from "he got Hull promoted", why are we considering giving the job to Brown? What are his qualities as a manager? Hardly a good word said about him from either Hull or Preston fans. He appears the sort of bloke who would end up falling out with most of our players and would just make...

CET:McGoldrick and Ball could start tonight

Surely it would make sense to play McSheffrey over ROD tonight. Don't think ROD has a future here, he'll go out on loan when the window opens. McSheffrey could do with 90 minutes and a chance to get his confidence back.

CET:McGoldrick and Ball could start tonight

Would like to see Brown given a go in midfield tonight. Think he played holding midfield for Oldham and Man Utd reserves, would be interesting to see how he gets on in that role for us. We don't have many central midfield options so could see him having to play there this season.

    Chris Wilder

I don't think compensation would be an issue - the owners know how important this decision is, the cost of compensation is insignificant compared to another season of failure. Plus I doubt the figure would be especially high if we were poaching a manager from league one or two. I'm starting...

SSN new manager to be announced this week.

Wise played with Shaw while he was here?

SSN new manager to be announced this week.

Good, sounds like they already have someone in mind and aren't just going for the cheap option. Not convinced Shaw or Carsley would work in the long term.

Stuart Linell Has Lost the Plot

I like how he dismisses those who phone in, use twitter or read the CT as a "minority" yet claims the Thorn supporters he speaks to during the week represents the "majority" of fans... how is that any less of a minority?! The arrogance of the man is incredible. "Why I was right" - oh dear.

    A winner

Could be wrong but didn't Dyche have no money to spend and a fairly average squad of players? Think he did very well getting them to 11th, they weren't far off the playoffs in the end and had a very good spell of form in the 2nd half of the season. Would still be in a job there if they hadn't...

    I have a horrible feeling............

Was just a thought. Swindon took a punt on Di Canio and it's worked well for them. No guarantees obviously but I think Alexander has the attributes make a good manager. He's vastly experienced and respected in the game, and always comes across as very thoughtful and intelligent. Being from...

    I have a horrible feeling............

This is what I expect to happen, although I worry they wouldn't be up to the job long term, much like what happened with Thorn. We say this every time but we really need to get the manager decision right this time. IMO we haven't had a decent one since Nilsson. Wish there was a Di Canio type...

Dennis Wise - alternative choice as manager?

Although the idea of Dennis Wise returning as manager sounds like a good thing, I'm not sure he'd be the best choice. I seem to remember him struggling at Leeds once Poyet left, and hasn't been in management since he left in 2008. I do think he'd be an improvement on Thorn (who wouldn't?)...

    david mcgoldrick

At the moment we only really have Cody and Ball. And Ball is still young and learning the game, so we could do with someone with a bit of quality and experience. McGoldrick is a decent player, strong and quick, would be a decent signing in League One. Wonder if we're still looking to sign...

    david mcgoldrick

It's a loan with a view to a permanent signing in January. He only has 1 year left on his contract so it's in their interests to sell him. Was pretty decent at Southampton I thought. Always had a lot of competition at Forest so never really made much of an impact there.

    Jordan Obita

Hope this is true, Reading fans seem to really rate him. Can play across the midfield or further forward too. Seems like the sort of player Thorn would like! http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=114237 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXltzUidHOs
