    3rd shirt official

I like it. And on the issue of City of culture, I find I have to compartmentalise the City fan part of me and the Coventrian part of me. We all know the issues we have as a club and fanbase with the council. But the City of Culture I feel is going to be brilliant for us as a city. Before...

    Recommend a beer

I'm not a fan of their hipster 'punk' schtick. But I had this over the summer and it's spot on, especially on a hot day. Cold, crisp and refreshing.

    Birmingham Pub Bombings

My old man was drinking in the Mulberry Bush that evening. Due to meet a pal after work, his mate got delayed and didn't show. Dad left and went home about half an hour before the bomb went off. I hope the families of all involved are finally able to find some peace.

    Sainsbury's Christmas Adverts

Food is a great cultural leveller imo. 'Desi pubs' are a great example of this, there's some cracking ones over Brum/Black Country way. In Cov there's the Stag and the Crow on Lockhurst lane, the Hollybush and the Lion's Inn. You'll find white, asian and black fellas enjoying the beer and the...

    Sainsbury's Christmas Adverts

It doesn't surprise me that muslims celebrate christmas, given the fact that Jesus is an important prophet in Islam (known as Isa), celebrating his birth seems fairly straightforward. I'm agnostic but our Hindu neighbours in recent years have always brought us food and homemade sweets on Diwali...

    Monk sacked at SWFC

According to a Brum mate of mine, he tried to persuade Bellingham (and a few of their other prospects) to sign with his agent pal. A group of parents including Bellingham's complained to the club saying they would take Jude and his younger brother elsewhere, so they got rid of him. Paid off for...

    Things that annoy you

The use of the word goals, the worst of which by far being the term 'squad goals'. Just fuck off.

    General TV Thread

I'm a big fan of his stuff too. I met him back in February when he did an evening at a theatre in Stratford, one of the nicest, most genuine blokes you could hope to meet.

    North or South ?

Partly set in Cov yeah but nothing actually filmed here. I seem to remember it making the front page of the Telegraph at the time though, making it out as if Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds were supping in the Litten Tree before popping to Fishy Moores for their supper.

    North or South ?

Even with Peaky Blinders though a good amount of it is filmed outside of the Midlands. The Midlands (including the East) actually recieves the lowest amount of investment from the bbc of all the defined regions, despite contributing a quarter of their entire license fee income. It would be nice...

    North or South ?

In general the region receives crap coverage in the mainstream. I can't even remember the last long running tv show that was made in Cov, Keeping up Appearances I guess? And that ended 25 years ago and never explicitly stated that it was Coventry. The bbc must make a shed load from the west...

    Lockdown Days Out

Cotswold wildlife park is worth a visit, mostly outdoors too. Could combine it with a visit to Bourton on the Water which is about 25 minutes away, there you can visit Birdland, only place in England you can see King penguins I believe.
