Mfuni

“Time to settle right down,
Better think of you future,
Leave the cheating bastards
You’ve found a new home”

Mfuni, a message to you Mfuni

First of all, that's cringey & secondly we've already got Rudoni who'd suit the Rudi line better - try harder

What about offering hand jobs to a forum of mostly middle aged men?
A bet so absurd he didn’t think would need cashing in on however MVE signed and he’s still here.

Saddlebrains how many hand jobs have you given so far? I’ll cash mine in next time I’m over

It was 2-1 till final seconds. Nothing baffling about not bringing a defender on

It is baffling, the lad has skill, can play in a number of roles.

Did Bobby get a bit lost last night for the last 10-15?

I think he's just disappointed that Lampard hasn't given him a run up front since his winner against Blackburn. Pure strikers instinct that header.

He picked up an injury took him a while to run it off, I hope he's okay for Saturday.

And what position would you have put him in?
He could have taken JDS off for starters who never got going (yes he has been very good in previous games). Or frankly take your pick, I'd personally have brought him on for Grimes but other than Onyeka who I feel did better than most have given him credit for, Mfuni couldn't have done any worse!

(tongue in cheek comment warning.... I'd have liked to see him have a go in goal, Rushworth had those gloves with a hole in them last night :ROFLMAO:)

I do think some get a bit hung up over the "label" stuck on a position. If you showed the heat map for a number of players here without posting their name or "position", it would genuinely open a few eyes. We needed more players to be brave on the ball yesterday and to get forwards with pace. The first 5 mins were great, Tats and MVE overlapping, all super encouraging. And then back to sitting deep, hoping a long ball might get some traction and almost zero down the flanks except for one great cross from EMC. Yerenkyi drove us up the pitch for the goal, and Rudi tried too, but Spurs were so much better at pushing on and Maddison showed how to control a game, he was everywhere.

I hate Robertson as an ex dipper but his energy and positivity is what we need to replicate. Mfuni appears to have real talent, is confident on the ball and good at driving forwards. We need that, even if he was at left back last night, it's hard to envisage how he wouldn't have improved on what we had on the pitch, only Pinnock, Thomas and arguably Cherif came out of the game with real credit for me.

Hopefully Bobby is fit for Saturday. But regardless, I’m going to judge Lamps on whether Mfuni plays.

There are only a handful of players that have consistently done well and he is one of them. He has the qualities we desperately need more of, whether it’s CB, LB, Or frankly DM for Grimes it’s self harm if he’s left on the bench again.

Well Dasilva has done well too and he’s never dropping the captain for an 18 year old out of position is he.

Mfuni will start CB.

He won’t drop his beloved Grimes for a player who is a future star that clearly has the attributes to fill that role a LOT better.

JDS has done well, I’d happily wager Mfuni would be better but it would be a shame to bench one of our better players this season, he deserves to retain his spot more than Grimes. If Thomas is fit JDS would be under threat if we went to a back 3 as Gboho has to be given a chance at some point.

Pinnock can be a good vice captain.

Bottom line is Mfuni has to start, as do Thomas and Pinnock if fit.

I'd start Mifuni - his quality is evident for all to see. I do think we're going to go have a lot of 'the players who aren't playing becoming better in everyone's eyes' as is always the case when we are not getting results. Must admit I'm keen to see what Gboho is all about, plus I want to see how we look without Grimes on the pitch. I do think Onyeka needs to start with either Torp, Hamer or Caleb alongside.

You keep banging this drum but he's not going to play Mfuni CM unless we have a massive injury crisis.

Yes I do and an increasing number of posters here agree because we're fed up watching the same issues as yesterday. I totally accept he won't, that does not mean he shouldn't!

Mfuni is far too good to be sat on the bench. And Grimes is not doing enough to justify his place. A switch is one of a number of ways that issue can be solved, he's clearly a versatile player and providing cover to the back 4 with the ability to move us up the pitch looks to suit his attributes well, we'll never know if we don't try it. Surely worth a go for one game to see if it works?

As I said in my post I've no issue Mfuni being part of a back 3 or replacing JDS, then trying someone else instead of Grimes. Mfuni has look a cut above most of our team whenever he's played and done nothing wrong. We are lucky to have him and should play him.
