I suspect it won't take many more weeks of what we've seen so far before those that were staying behind to applaud the team and sing will turn against them.

King has loved soaking up the praise, having his song sung, going on BBC and TalkSport to talk about how brilliant everything is. What he didn't like was when he got some, entirely predictable, stick for sacking Robins. Be interesting to see the response from him if he's in the firing line. And his brother going off on Twitter is not exactly going to help anybodies mood.

His brother isn't going off as such but he's reposting other people going off, so basically the cowards way of going off.

Was it fair weather in league 2? Shame all these cunts weren't there in the early rounds of the checkatrade when I had about 4 rows to myself. When it was allowed to share my ticket I couldn't give it away for years if I couldn't make the games.

Probably didn't even know we existed.

I personally hope these super fans and influencers give it loads to the wrong opposition fan and get a slap.

My lad was really muttering under his breath about how useless it all was. Fortunately we have a long car journey home to ‘talk it through’.
If I’m honest, and I wouldn’t say this to him, it’ll do him some good to experience some shit with football. For the most part it has been shit supporting the City. We still do it though.
Also able to give him some fatherly advice about “getting rinsed” at school by Man Utd, Arsenal fans…”If they give you any shit ask ‘em where they watched their fucking team this weekend. If they didn’t go up, they can’t enter the conversation. Fuck ‘em”.

I sit on the end of a row, and I must say most of the faces leaving before the chant began were 'newer' fans, I looked around me and all the old, familiar faces were joining in with SBA. I'm not putting any spin on it, just maybe some of the leavers haven't seen the team under the cosh so much before.

It was so sweet when we actually managed to beat Liverpool/man Utd etc.

I’m friends with a spurs fan who I’ve known since school and will still regularly bring up ‘87. I’m a 49 year old father of two.

king has always got big decisions correct and sacking Robins was a huge decision. I think he dealt with that fine. He said he knew best and he did.

I don't mean to mock but this is just sanctimonious nonsense.

I have seen plenty of "disconnect" in the early 80's. Fans on the pitch threating to kill Jimmy Hill. One beloved goalkeeper turning on the fans and screaming he was leaving the shithole of a club as the fourth goal went it. The total humiliation of someone running on the pitch at Leicester trying to attack the referee and a Leicester fan (I was in the stand) saying who is that. It was our manager - he was sacked a few days later after another humiliation at Luton.

No one cares as long as the club survives and we did for yeas and years.

The difference now I did say on here many fans will not have the mental strength to cope with this and lose their heads as they delusional to think we will stay up. I saw us concede 5 goals twice to Notts County in the top flight.

We at best had a 5% chance at the start of the season. Stay if you want and applaud the crap we saw its a free country. It will not change a single thing. If people want to leave whats the issue? The product was shit on the day and needs to improve. Its not a happy clappy commune its a football crowd. "Bravo lads we lost 5 nil"

What do people seriously expect. I saw what happened when there was disconnect - people did something about it and not just fiddle when Rome is well and truly burning.

I don’t buy the “it’s our newer” fans, how new? We sold 24,000 ST last year and the majority renewed, think it was 20,000+ the year before.
I done mind if people leave early or stay, personal choice, clap or boo, it’s their choice.
I think yesterday was about trying to show the players that whilst they were shite in the second half, as fans, we are there to still support you, futile or not, you can see why it was perhaps done.
Been to many an away game over the years being pummeled and twist and shout going for 20+ mins of a second half long with other songs.

It seems today that people have to live in a world of its right or wrong but yet both can be right for those people so maybe don’t judge what’s wrong for you is right for someone else.

Not sure it will continue if we concede and continue to make the stupid errors but this was always going to be a monumental ask this season to play well and stay up.
We’re creating chances which is some hope for the remaining games which there are a lot of them.

Just going for drink from my half full glass 😉

If we went 1-0 up the roof would’ve come off and it would’ve been a completely different game.

Would we have won? Maybe. Would we have lost? Maybe. Would we have got battered and half the fans lose their nerve? Almost certainly not.

Our atmosphere is always better when the numbers are a bit lower.

Let’s face it, a lot have only returned recently while we’ve been good. The first playoff season we only averaged 19k and the place was electric.

Thats 11k increase in 3 years that have only known majority good times. It remains to be seen if they back when times are tough and the atmosphere is already not what it was.

Yeah I hear all this and would agree if they were just downing tools like Leicester last season etc but you can’t tell me those players don’t care and will be hurting just as much as us. I don’t get how negativity will help that.

So much of it is just having a bit of confidence to keep the ball and be a bit braver on it, I think if things get toxic then they’ll be even quicker to yeet it, to avoid being the ones to be caught in possession and get the groans.

Sounds so silly but a goal will change things. Keep the faith bud 👊

I left at 77 minutes, never slagged the team off, ..I expected it would be difficult..Just walked away. I support the team, never have a go. Like you say, choice. I have been going on and off, mainly on, since late 60s..

I stayed and applauded, but didn’t join in with the chanting as it was all a bit cringe, and smacked of ‘plucky Coventry just happy to be here’ which seems to be some of last season’s players’ mindsets

regardless if some are or should be good enough to take the next step, playing the majority of the same team as last season was never going to work from a mental point of view - most look overawed and they need some solid premier league experience alongside them to guide them through games, which other than FTT, Taiwo and Pinnock we don’t really have

I really do hope (and not in a vindictive way) some of the players are dropped for their own good as they need to be taken out of the spotlight for a bit - Bobby, JDS, EMC seem to have managed better than others, but some are obviously struggling and I wouldn’t be against the likes of Grimes, Rudoni, MVE being replaced - Hamer has prem experience, as does Tuna, and the new boys come with a clean slate, so why not throw them in and see what happens

I do worry though that it won’t happen, this whole plucky ‘give it a go’ mentality will remain, and until we start believing we deserve to be at the top table we won’t get very far
