Doug King on CWR

Stadium will be ready, loads of work going on.
PL have come in and ensured the stadium is going to be up to scratch.
Perspex being changed out around the stadium.
VAR cameras fitted.
Not the man to partner easily but they are going to help bring in events, music etc.
They have the network to bring them in.
We can grow the pitch outside and bring it in if we need to.
Want to make the hall more of a premium experience.
Enhance the hospitality to raise revenue
Our advantage is the exhibition centre / hotel so we need to use this partnership to really expand it.
Will bring a lot more traffic to the arena, more jobs in the hospitality sector.
Hope to get a pathway to give people entry level jobs and then build careers in hospitality.
Its not a total rebrand, we need to bring in more money to stay in the Premier League.
We need to diversify and use the arena.
Take nothing for granted, look at Leicester.

Really pleased with transfers, very targeted and not reactionary.
The beudy is we are an attractive place for top players to come to our cidy.
Hamer came in smiling and is happy to be back.
Not sentimental, if he wasn't going to make us better then he wouldn't be here.

The partnership makes sense. Hopefully a fruitful one.

Sounds like even more reason to have a semi-functioning train service.

Thought it was a good interview. Accept that LB does talk a bit too much, but as previous, DK spoke pretty openly and no waffly BS. His focus is clearly on increasing and maximising the commercial benefit of the asset(s), which in turn, and time, will translate on to the pitch.

I have missed it but I cant seem to find a download or whatever for it. How can I get to listen retrospectively?

The guy who does the walkabout part of the stadium tour did say it was a 'blessing' our first fixture was away - Closely followed by, 'But we will be ready for Hull'.
I have become a dab hand at recognising an uneasy smile though.

For today...Go to the cwr on on bbc sounds (first post above), pick up the schedule (on the right if from first post) choose Lorna Bailey breakfast and scroll to about 3:32 in to that show.

After today you would have to pick the right day from the time line.

What was she jumping in with?

Would just ask a question (about ground upgrades or transfer spend) and he would start replying. Then instead of going further to get some details it was just some shite anecdote or babbling on.

Obviously he's not going to reveal to the exact pound what we are going to spend but it's tedious just listening to "Sky blue army" and "sky blue hearts" over and over again. Wasn't that long ago she was trying to make him look silly because he sacked Mark Robins and she was bigging up a nonce.

My one hope for Burnham is he gives power for this stuff to local govt so we aren’t reliant on the endless shitshows in central govt tbh. Same with the VLR.

"Local Govt" for the Midlands though will just mean a layer of politicians in Birmingham. They won't give a shit about a Warwickshire train line

To defend her a little, too many of our support love that bollocks, 'great fan base', 'the SBA are amazing'.

This was definitely a missed opportunity to get a bit more info but Im sure it won't be the last interview King does on the subject

It's tiresome hearing it over and over again when interviewing the manager, players and owner.

Ask him details about what we can expect to see changed at the ground etc.
Ask him about how a transfer has happened and the process.

You know, actual interesting stuff.
