Top two is cleatly Robins and Lampard, though hard to rank first and 2nd.

Without the work Robins did Lampard wouldnt have been here, in fact the club might not have been here .
But Robins couldn't quite complete that final step, Lampard has done it in emphatic style, he really has smashed it, and like Robins, without massive resources.

Yeah agreed. I also like that Frank Lampard hasn't ripped up and started from scratch with the work Mark Robins did, and most of the squad he's working with is still pretty much what Robins built.
Lampard has just added what we were really missing, and taken us to the next level.

It could be argued it's a bit early to put a manager top of that list after only one and a half seasons, no matter what the achievement when there is someone like MR on the list. It's indisputable what MR has done for the club but I think in terms of management & coaching skills, and what has been achieved by FL, he tops it for me.

Mowbray a bit too high for me.

Ultimately Slade will get the focus, but Mowbray gave him the grenade in which he pulled the pin out of. That transfer window was a disaster.

As for Mark Venus, he was anything but a safe pair of hands!

Agree and they did, but I just felt the length of time AV was here and his input and the fact that MR didn't appear to be as good without him, means I think he deserves more credit than other assistants. Only my opinion though, not hugely precious over it (y)

Pretty much agree with that.

But just as you've put in the qualifier for Robins, I want to put in a qualifier for Nilsson. I'd have him in the second bracket before Jim Smith got foisted on him.

Mowbray is also a difficult one because his disastrous summer transfer window really messed us up that season and I think he has to take a fair bit of blame for that. So maybe move him down one.

I loved Nilsson as a player, one of my all time favourites. Only wish we'd had him younger and for longer.

Pressley in some ways was dealt a worse hand than Robins and had to navigate the worst of Sisu, Sixfields, points deductions and a mostly toxic atmosphere. Thought he coped with this with a huge amount of dignity.

He did have Calum Wilson and Leon Best though which was a bit of a cheat code for a while but once Best fucked off and Wilson was clearly going to leave he struggled.

Shouldn't that list include Mark Robins twice?

First time Judas second time brilliant.

I'd say the same for Adams. Was good up until he went weird and started referring to himself in the third person in interviews

Shame it isn't done over halves, because we "won the second half "an awful lot under Coleman and he would surely be top 2 based on that.

Never realised Pressley was so highly rated by our fans, relied on Clarke and Wilson for most of his time here and looked lost without them and couldn't set up the defence
I have a lot of time for Pressley tbh, in the 13/14 season which off the pitch was probably the lowest ebb in this clubs history I thought he handled himself impeccably and considering the resources at his disposal and the circumstances he was working under did a bloody decent job to wipe that 10 point deduction and steer us clear of any danger, if Leon hadn't have forced through his move to Wolves we probably end up in a comfortable top half finish which really, could have been a Top 6 finish with our 10 points back

Not doubting he lost the plot after we returned from Sixfields and he signed that new contract mind you, he should have gone after the Worcester FA Cup debacle (Which he actually wanted to, but was talked out of handing his resignation in) but for that first few months of the Sixfields season alone I look back on him fondly and wish him well

Glad to see him doing alright with Dundee after his appointment come in for criticism in the summer
