Southampton will be fucked by the time they get to Ipswich - they have just had Blackburn squeezed back into their Schedule and I think they play Ipswich a couple of days after chasing Man City around Wembley for 90 mins.

It certainly is with the addition of Ipswich v Middlesbrough coming up on the 19th as well. Realistically we're minimum 2nd if we beat Sheffield Wednesday at home next. If they lose to either Norwich or Middlesbrough we have Blackburn away on the 17th and Portsmouth at home on the 21st. Win one of those for the title. Portsmouth at home is starting to look quite likely where we would confirm the title with a win.
I would like Middlesbrough to keep going and be close to Ipswich when they play.
Ipswich 7 games to go. 2 at home 5 away.
Coventry 5 games to go 3 at home.

Ipswich will be the same. Southampton is their 4th game in 9 days with their game being their 3rd away on the bounce. They're hardly going to see their own home. 3 away games in 6 days.
2nd place is still up for grabs.

Mate, we all know that it's as good as done if we beat Sheff W, we can all see the goal difference disparity between us and Millwall/Mboro. But we can't be officially promoted by 2:30pm Saturday. There will be no (p) after our name.
Tbf Ipswich have a massive squad and can easily completely rotate their team

I actually called it on here that we’d beat Derby and draw with Hull (not usually that accurate, normally too pessimistic), but I do think we’ll win another couple of games. Not sure which ones, though.
It feels like Lampard and the team really want to go all the way and win it. After being top for so much of the season, the title has to be the main target now. Part of me would love it if, behind the scenes, they were rattled by all the “bottled it” talk back in January, and are now determined to throw it back at everyone.
That said, the players should be fully up for this. These are the moments they play for opportunities like this don’t come around often, and they need to grab it.

No. It’s Boro and Millwall that matter for promotion not Ipswich. We need 4 points either from us gaining them or both of them dropping them. So if we win and they both fail to win we’re up but that can’t happen until Boro play at 3

Absolutely, i'd expect them to get 2nd now. Whenever it's a tight call, I always go in favour of the year 1 parachute team because of the quality and depth of their squad. Same with Southampton, i'd have them to finish top 6 as well, they can cope with juggling league and FA Cup being a year 1 parachute team.

It's all about it being officially confirmed now. And once that has happened, we will be looking to secure top spot and have that officially confirmed too

The simplest way to look at it is:
If we win on Saturday, and both Middlesborough and Milwall fail to win their matches at 3pm, promotion is confirmed because at that point it won't be possible for both Middlesborough and Milwall to catch up on the point difference.
If we win on Saturday, and both or one of Middlesborough and Milwall win their matches at 3pm, promotion is all but confirmed apart from an essentially impossible to overcome goal difference.
If we lose or draw on Saturday, we carry on!

It’s only after reading all this and the implications of yesterday’s games that you really see what a decent result it was last night and why Frank was (relatively) relaxed about it.
I know the mantra is one game at a time but clearly we are now playing the percentages . Came out of a really tough Easter with 4 points, no injuries ( we think) and no one else could do any better this weekend.
