I just googled Midsommar, and I’m disappointed that a Scandinavian Noir-inspired movie escaped my attention.

That’s next on my list, thanks.

I much preferred Misomer tbh, I thought it really got under your skin and was very unnerving.

Talking of unnerving, have you seen The Witch ?

This was a film I thought I`d hate, with it being in olde English, but thought it was a very very effective horror film.

Bit of trivia, it was also Anna Taylor Joy screen debut !

I did see The Witch and wasn’t blown away by it but have also thought it’s one of those I need to go back to, given how good most people seem to think it is. I’ll give it a rewatch at some point.

Maybe I’m not a fan of Robert Eggers stuff. I saw the Lighthouse and really didn’t get on with it.
I thought Nosferatu was very good though.

Agree with The Witch. I thought it was okay, but didn't meet the hype.
The goat scene was cool though.

I really liked Nosferatu. Looking forward to Werwulf later this year, looks like it has a very similar cast

Caught up with SNL UK last night, and thought it was a mixed bag.
Some of the sketches were good (especially the Underage and Irish grandad ones), but felt they were all designed to be suitable for American viewers which doesn't always work.
The audience whooping and cheering is also grating.

Going to stick with it though, and as some have said, at least it's new talent and not just the same set of comedians on everything else like Jimmy Carr.

Just finished the second season of The Capture, really good, one to go, frightening what the government and big tech can do, I don't think it's very far off reality at this moment. Think Enemy of the State but with far newer and scarier technology

Went to see Project Hail Mary last night. As a big fan of the book was half expecting them to mess it up as is often the case with book adaptions.

Happy to report they couldn't have done a better job. Definitely worth seeing in the cinema.

Have seen people posting that the 70mm IMAX version is stunning but that's only showing at the BFI and is sold out for pretty much all scheduled showings (they're currently cutting back showings of other forthcoming films to extend the run). Got me thinking, where is the best cinema screen in the midlands?

Printworks in Manchester seems to have stopped doing 70mm and gone totally laser. I recall they were having a condensation issue, guess they decided stopping 70mm was easier than fixing the issue. Warwick uni has 35mm and 70mm but seems to never been open to the public, just staff & students sadly.

Awful, odious man but I sometimes feel it’s a little unfair to create a drama around someone who is still alive. No doubt it will be exaggerated for effect and will become the “truth” when shown on tv.

Just finished the second series of Fall Out.

Considering I`ve never played the game, I thought it was outstanding and if anything Walton Goggins, as the Ghoul, is even better in this one.

I thought the sets in particular really lit the series up and with some pretty inspired casting too ( Macauley Culkin, as nuclear wasteland Roman soldier ! )

Up there with the tv sc-fi tv greats ( imo )

Having watched it, I`d say that the makers actually went easy on him tbh.

Anyone who was found guilty of soliciting and paying for category A images of sexual abuse of children, pretty much deserves everything that they get. Plus, he also ruined a young mans life in the process and has never shown an ounce remorse, instead once he knew the word was out, he got ahead of the game and hid behind the cloak of " mental health issues ".

If anything he got off very lightly, as normally anyone found guilty of possession / paying for category A images of the sexual abuse of kids goes straight to jail.

Its the best game to TV adaptation going! Totaly relived my 400+ hours gameplay
