My Favourite Outfield player and such a talented lad

He may soon be a premier league player and if we get promoted in the space of 10 years will have gone from playing on loan in the isthmian league with the metropolitan police to playing for barnet in the national league , posh in league 1 and being a huge part of coventry city being promoted to the premier league

Thats a remarkable achievement and rewards talent and dedication

Btw what a steal for 5 million pounds

Thinking of that Peterborough group that everyone wanked over, EMC has ended up being by far the best of them. Clever recruitment again.
The lad that essentially replaced him at Posh actually looks a good young talent too. Kevin Lisbies son.

Really the recruitment was excellent werent it , took 3 years of maturing and a top tier coaching team to bring it to fruition

And to think people said we had our pants pulled down by loaning him back

Last year some said 4.5m was too much to boot

Still remember when Robins was sacked, Doug on talksport saying he hoped EMC would get more time.

Absolutely flown under Lampard and keeps getting better. 100% hope to see him start next year and develop further
Memory is hazy but I think emc scored 4-5 in the first few games under lampard didn't he?

Rudi as well flourished. Not sure MR knew what to do with them

Not to reopen the robins wound. But I think they both needed a more hands on manager to get belief into them. I think Adi used to do all the more hands on training at the club.

Seemed to me that they felt a bit isolated from Robins especially when they say that Lampard feels more a part of the squad ( comment was made in regards to giving it back to opposition)

Dont forget alot these players once we are promoted will trigger large payments to their previous clubs. Posh no doubt would have put that in contract.

Likely fee paid will be well over £5M

The only aspect of his game that I worry about in relation to the step up to the Prem is his pace. Biggest weakness in his game for me is that he’s not very effective on the counter and struggles to beat a man 1v1 when he’s running directly at them. Fantastic 1v1 or even 1v2 on the wing and brilliant with his back to goal.

Ive just looked we paid 4.25 mill upfront for EMC with 750k knocked off for the loan back ..

Cant find information on a promotion amount

When we signed him first I thought we had been robbed of 4.5m but how wrong was i his strength on the ball and quality he has is a joy to watch he has been a revelation player of the season for me

His defensive performance yesterday was excellent it’s the one area he needed to improve

I think Mr Lampard and Mr Edwards have had a little word in his ear.

Remember when we signed EMC from Peterborough, some people said, HOW MUCH . 🤣

I've definitely bought in to @Hobo theory about him playing more centrally.
He's the best back to goal player in the squad, his hold up play is better than Wright and Simms, we're going to need that next season.

Really looks like an old fashioned number 9 at times to me.

Fantastic player and surely one of first names on the team sheet.

The thing is, if you bothered to look he clearly showed a lot of these qualities even in his first few games (some of them on the right, where I have no doubt he could also be a real threat). But the team wasn't gelling, he got unlucky with one or two near misses, and people on here jumped to the crazy conclusion that he was League 1 level. It's so blinkered, and it happens time and time again when players are just finding their feet.

Fair play to him looked hopeless when first signed and career looked very average before

has had a superb season is so strong

I think the main difference now is his fitness - which has helped his work ethic - he looks much leaner, less heavy-legged, and he’s always tracking back.

In his early days he was clearly struggling with the pace of the Championship. Think a few of our players will be the same next season in the Premier League. We will need to be patient.

My only criticism of him at this point is that he cuts inside onto his right foot too often, but that might even be an instruction.

He has improved enormously under this coaching team like a number of others, and it proves that when you follow the advice of FL and his staff you reap the rewards with interest. As for next season… strength and physicality matter more in the Prem than they have done for a long time. It’s bizarrely the more technically minded players who are being pushed out, even at Man City. So he is someone who has a shot at making the step up.

Onyeka and Grimes got most of the plaudits yesterday but I actually think he was up there with them, just dominated his side of the pitch.

I think, compared to the Championship, the Prem is slightly more laid back, not slower. Hopefully some of our more talented players will have more time on the ball rather than in your face games.
