Felt like they were instructed not to bomb forward

I don’t think it was, just not taking responsibility on the ball. Trying to play perfect football never works. Perfect football comes from confidence and instinct. It was like they were looking for the perfect pass into the box, which you will never get in a packed and defended penalty area. So you have to put the balls in. Build the pressure. It will always come back to you when they are sitting so deep. Build the pressure, force the error and keep attacking the second phase.

Watching these games over the last couple of nights highlights that;
We are too soft.
We lack desire.
Our energy levels in relation to the above are below that of other sides.

We may have better natural footballers in some areas of the pitch than other sides, but to coin a bit of an old footballing phrase,
Other teams seem to just "want it" more than we seem to.

Anybody know why he's not trying 500 touches and trying to take the player on? What's that weird thing he's doing where he kicks it towards the goal?

Amazing when you get a shot on target with composure are you watching Wright and Simms.

Exactly.

Other teams don't fuck about and try and get a shot off when they can. They aren't fucking about trying to put in a floaty cross from the edge of the box, they will have a dig and the strikers will follow it up.

Southampton have been shocking since appointing their interim manager permanently. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sack him before the end of the season.

Leicester are the definition of a first half team, might completely balls the 3-0 lead up. 3-2 now.

Totally different game..they didnt stick 11 behind the ball.

Also just gos to show..if we got 1 we would have got plenty.
It's how Oxford play against the top sides. With good reason too as the low blocking park the bus strategy tends to do fairly well for them when they know they can't go toe to toe as easily.

Using their games against the top 5 as a guide, their record reads; P7 W1 D4 L2. Not bad for a side 2nd bottom playing against the top 5.

I don't mind if Leicester stayed up if it means they beat Ipswich and Middlesbrough later in the season, and this goes some way to keeping them in the scrap for those two games. Come on you Saint shaggers!

3-0 up. In the bag. A td resigned to them winning. I wonder if any Saints fans left at HT?

Haven’t got the game on but a mate who’s at the Leicester game says they’ve been barely hanging on since Southampton scored. Lucky to get a draw.

IT MIGHT BE 4-3 Southampton

IT IS 🤣
