He needs to be brought in immediately. Lampard and Wolfenden need to sort their shit out as well.

JDS and Kitching are a liability at the back. Every single game they're getting caught out or doing something stupid (doesn't always get punished). They both need to come out of the team.
You can add MVE and Thomas to that list as well!

Yeah, they do. LOL

Semenyo may have been linked with Spurs but he was never going there and Spurs fans know it. It would be like Doug saying we tried to sign Semenyo but he chose Man City 😝

Yes but its a manager talking about a failed target, so do you concede that it does happen?

Does anyone feel that Worrall on loan and Cirkin with £5m upfront and a couple million in add ons should we go up is really outside of our remit?

Thats 2 players with experience of getting out this league.

Right - get this back on track
Transfer thread, not who should play where.

@Saddlebrains
@Jimmy87

Inputs please. (Plus anyone who may have decent information)

Get us back on track.- 30 or so hours to go to possibly save our season.
Nothing new on incomings from me.
I see we look to have finally reached an agreement with Brentford though, so that's good news.

Not a rumour, just an opinion and may get laughed at, but i'd be looking at Jamaal Lascelles. He may not be what we are after in the long run but he's experienced and could come in and make a big difference to our run in. If we are not going to use Lati, let him go and get the minutes he craves, he is a good Championship defender for the right club.

To be honest this is where I miss ITKs and think they can be positive for clubs within reason.

Would much prefer to hear we are trying then going into another deadline day thinking nothings happening. At the very least would like a business is concluded tweet

The headline says breaks the rule so it is very rare and accepted as not normal protocol. Says it all really.

But it does happen. Therefore i was right. Its clearly an unwritten rule not actual protocol.

Always calls to get certain midfielders out of the team but the one who seems to survive such calls is Grimes. I don't hate the idea of Onyeka going in the team for him atm at all. Don't think he will though, will be at the expense of one of the others.

He absolutely can play as a 6 and a different kind to the way Grimes does.

He has, but hes second choice to Reinaldo I believe, and when he was away at AFCON he started featuring.

I'd be happy spending money on him, think he would be a good LB for the Prem.
Reinaldo was very poor last week at West Ham & lucky to not be sent off and was replaced at HT by Cirkin. I can't see Sunderland letting Cirkin leave & think he will be getting more minutes in rest of season.

Grimes has been way off it for a while now. A break would probably do him good.

This is the thing that really sticks out for me in the last month or so. How do we never win a second ball…. Every 50/50 the other team always wins
Is it just the way the ball drops or more to it,it certainly worked earlier in the season?

Only if some outward moves, no idea who.

I can't see Lampard dropping him as much as your post is true.
Spot on, we’re not dropping grimes, just needs someone to cover the work, he’s trying to cover Eccles/torp and the back 4, if the Brentford lad comes in you’ll see a bit more to grimes game

Ideal but I rather suspect unlikely

I agree that a player with Lascelles experience would be brilliant, but Lascelles himself is a massive risk given he’s played twice in two years.

So with the funds remaining let's hope some of the underperforming/underused are shipped out and some proper experienced quality comes in. And no more bloody wingers please.

The whole defensive has gone to shit but the left side really needs looking at. Kitching and Dasilva are brain dead.

It’s weird. They were playing as a decent unit before injuries (Thomas) and suspensions (Thomas and Dasilva). We would always give chances with a high line but were more solid, we just look a bit disjointed now. Again I don’t know if this is managers spotting weaknesses in set up and exploiting those, or players in bad form, or most likely a bit of both

It would actually be good for Doug to come out, should we not get what we need and let us know who we are targeting. To most fans it looks as if we aren't doing much, others assume we are.

He would build a lot o respect if he came out and said we went for X but it didnt happen as he didnt want to move, we went for X but he wanted too much money.
I'm not sure the clubs whose players we went for and turned us down/would not sell would appreciate our owner mentioning the the names of those players.

True. Always a risk, but the experience would be invaluable. All hypothetical though of course.
It’s heading down the right path with that suggestion.

Ben Davies would be a possible option given he’s played so little for Spurs.

Shame Adam Webster is injured as he would also be ideal.

Davies also not a bad shout
