We’re 8 points clear of 3rd…
Having played a game more, and averaging a full point per match less than them for quite a while now.

I think people nearly always overreact on here, but surely nobody can pretend we have been in anything like table-topping form since early December. We've looked like a good Championship side but no more than that. It's a huge challenge for the manager to rediscover the dominance we had before.

Crying out for a cb or cm and we’re after an attacker, never change bling it’s comical

I have come to the conclusion we are just hellbent on breaking the League goalscoring record and nothing else...

One crumb of comfort to take is this means plates are spinning in the recruitment department at least

He's reliable.

Could it possibly be a bit of wheeler dealing going on, last minute?

Maybe someone is after Wright? Or Asante and we are looking at potential replacements were that about to possibly happen?

There will be interest in a few of our players for sure this window. A few mentions

It seems odd, but O'Rourke is a reliable source, so maybe it's something we are just looking at as a contingency, should we lose one of our strikers.

Are most getting that horrible feeling we will get Doug coming out on CWR saying we put lots of effort into deals that just didn't come off. And we also lost out on main targets due to others be able to offer more...Ending with the squad is good enough, thanks Lorna....

Its coming i think
I might have to apologise to @chinamans view at this rate, he said we were going with what we've got a few days ago according to someone at the club.

Might be some truth in this. Although Simms might be more likely to go

Maybe Doug is actually splashing the cash to stop Boro getting a striker?
Doubt it,
So far this season we've spaffed 8 mill on 2 players that dont regularly start games, or often fail to come off the bench. I genuinely feel bad for luke woolfenden, Though im sure the wages take the sting off.

Imagine what that 8mil could get us now.
We're in the lead in a race that gets the club near £200m over the next few years and the policy seems to be "what do we need Frank?"
"Oh doug, probably a good creative box to box midfield option with strong stats, and possibly something solid on the left back".

"OK, well, we've lined up some 37 year old wonderkid with a dodgy birth certificate and fuck it, let's get another centre forward"

What is the expenditure of other Championship clubs this transfer window? Curious what other teams have actually spent.

There are a few days left, so we need to wait before going mental. Need to sort something though.

I think our early results flattered us a bit. We were always giving teams too many chances and we had a freaky spell where everything just seemed to go in for us. It was never going to continue like that. I got laughed at for mentioning it at the time.

But we are still in a good position and if we can maintain our home form we won’t be far off. But we need a win and a few draws away from home, by being a bit tighter and more savvy.

I don’t think we necessarily need a change of formation. Just a few tweaks, like not throwing both fullbacks forward at the same time, plus a midfielder. Too many times we are being overloaded on the counter. An example Brau made a mistake in one game which led to a goal, but for me the real question was why was he back defending on his own. Certain players have got to track back better and help out more.

We don’t need to panic, but the manager, coaches and players need to address one or two issues and sort it out. It’s a bit disappointing it hasn’t been done already. It is noticeable that even with squad rotation the same frailties exist. Which to me suggests the system isn’t quite working at times, rather than the players aren’t good enough.
