Ok. Not being an avid viewer of Premier League football - what type of player is he these days?
Straight down the middle - in behind?
A 9 who holds the ball up and brings others in to play?
A fox in the box?
Drift out wide style? (don't think this would suit either partie if so)

Fox in the box …. He can still finish but his pace isn’t what it used to be ….

Nothing yet official regarding his contract status, but he's not in the squad tonight.

They were talking about Wilson on Talksport at the weekend and why he couldn’t get in the woeful West Ham team.

Evidently Wilson struggles to run in behind teams now. His pace has gone and certainly over any distance so Nuno has encouraged him to come short more, link the play etc but it’s not his natural game. This has led to frustration on both sides, hence the parting of the ways.

Wilson started the season hoping to convince Tuchel to take him to the World Cup.
Im not sure where all this "cant get in the West Ham team" nonsense is coming from. Hes played in 17/20 games. Including a full 90 against Wolves at the weekend. Hes also scored 4 goals and got 1 assist (their joint 2nd highest scorer, top scorer has 6) which isnt a bad return for a shit team creating very little chances. 1 in 4. West Ham have scored 20 goals all season, so he's almost scored 1/4 of their goals.

So all the "not good enough for their team" and all the "been injured all season" post are tosh really. Way off the mark. Screenshot_20260106_185954_Chrome.jpg

When first floated I was against it but I think it would be excellent.

Would definitely score goals in the Championship and he might remind Haji how to score goals.

If you've got the means step in & let Doug know you have the dollars. Maybe our fans can put up the bonus money...donations from £1.00 , we could raise that !
I do as it happens. I won a big poker match in the States, but last time I tried to get involved in the club everyone piled on me calling me Dhinsa 2.0 or something. Learnt to stay out of it after that...

Imagine having Wilson to start for 60 minutes in one game then come off the bench for 30 minutes the next.

Would be quality.

I shared the discussion they had about him with the local West Ham journo.

They have parted ways this week so he proved to be spot on ….

Nuno likes attackers who can run in behind and run the channels and in his view Wilson can’t do that now.

If you are in the bottom 3 relegation fight and your manager is happy for you to move on for free then there are reasons for that even if you don’t agree with them .

If he could get 6 goals and a couple of assists in half of the season, that could be the difference maker / worth a lot of points in the league.

Imagine changing your profile pic to that and reminding me of that god awful sponsor!! 🫣

The Brazil away kit though was something else.

The reasons are that they’ve just spent £50m on two other strikers so he’s not gonna play

with Simms showing he'll get goals, Wright still here and well capable of having a streak to finish the season and Asante our leading scorer in the position he'd be taking, is the risk of p*ssing off players already here actually worth it?

BTA is competing with Rudoni for the ten spot, we’ve really only got two strikers at the club.

If all these rumours come true then for the forward 4 spots we have

Wright
Simms
Asante
Sakamoto
EMC
Esse
Yang
Rudoni

8 Players for 8 places.

Now that assumes also that all will be fit at the same time, which we have seen this season is unlikely.

Wilson would be icing on the cake, as would Piroe.

I think with a lone striker system you want at least three for the option of a partnership plus one tbh. Same as keepers, that’s 24 plus a utility somewhere.

only because we didn't have a clear alternative at the time (think it's when Eccles was still injured) and with Sheaf sold, we wanted Torp in with Grimes. Not sold on the idea that Asante is a no. 10.

Genuine question - can Rudoni play as an 8? In the absence of Torp.

How many of his goals came playing as a 10?
Must be a fair few.

Well he’s not a 9, 7 or 11 and he’s top scorer from the 10 spot. So I say we park the metaphysics and play him there.

Not sure what this means but it's a nice word tbf.

Im just saying im less concerned with what he “is” and more with what he does, which is score goals when played in that position. He’s not getting in ahead of Simms and Wright and isn’t at his best out wide IMO. So that makes him a ten.

Wilson would be a brilliant signing, and do able, free agent, Asante, wright ,Simms, Wilson, Saka, esse, EMC, hyeok, that gets us over the line
