That he needs to properly back his manager this window with the funds to finish the job. Lampard has voiced frustration with the size of the squad for weeks.
I'm starting to wonder now if that piece in the Guardian used Lampard as the source, not King.

And it looks like he is, actual credible journalists are saying they expect us to spend.

It's the 4th

Bobby Thomas clapping the fan's as he left the pitch after his red.
Am i reading too much into this, but don't recall seeing this previously.
Was that his "Swan Song"?

We’re assuming King has the means to back Lampard. We do lose a serious amount of cash operationally and we also now have a massive stadium complex to maintain and staff.

There's the Sheaf money sitting there unused, but there is an insurance policy of the firesale that would follow not being promoted.

Also he can invest now as if it works he will get the money back on promotion. He has enough assets to fund this.

Think we genuinely need Esse, Piroe, Neil and maybe Castledine. Piroe gives us Championship experience and goals up front and a different option to what we have.
Esse has a good ceiling and stood out for Milwall last season.
Neil knows the league as well and is a battler, competition for grimes, Sheaf replacement.
Castledine as competition for Rudoni more of an O’Hare 10 so different style.

Agreed. But something has to fundamentally change the losses. It’s entirely possible that £8m has gone on gas, electricity, wages, plumbing, painting etc etc etc
I don’t think there’s any point selling Sheaf when we did unless it was to generate funds for reinforcements in areas of greater need.

You have got to think Doug is non stop trying to get things done. I understand its not easy but its going to be impossible to defend if we cant get at least 3 in. We are desperate for new energy and more pace in the group.
