Bakayoko may have been a donkey but he was our donkey. He was with us when we didn't have a pot to piss in and helped us to where we are now.

Some people seem to have forgotten how bad things got. If a player was worth a quid we sold them for 50p so we could buy a light bulb. Those without the ability but gave 100% are just as important as those who grew with us on our climb back up the football league.

We paid for him.

In L2 we totally paid £125,000 to loan Clarke-Harris.

Pretty expensive light bulb.

and 10 goals for Baggies the season before. He's proven.
For BTA and Simms, last season was v much an anomaly in terms of their goal scoring. If you take 1 bad season, that can be forgiven so long they come back good the next season.

In the summer, despite the v many repetitive calls, we never needed to sign a striker.

They weren’t really anomalies. Thomas-Asante had a pretty average record even at Salford. Simms has really only had one other season to judge on

Realistically. 8-10 goals is a decent haul for any Championship player. It’s not groundbreaking, but solid.

There will be 10-20 players in the whole division who will surpass 10 goals in a given season. People seem to forget that.

To bring the conversation full circle, Haji was always going to be the main striker this season. Simms and BTA are better 2nd, 3rd choice options than most other teams.

I actually thought Bakayoko in the end, turned into a useful League 1 player

He was clearly way out of his depth in The Championship though
