I was just pointing out an example.

Out of interest, if the crowd has 'fuck all to do with the action' should a result stand if, say 60 mins had been played? 45, 30?

My gut feel is that after 75 minutes the result should stand, but only in instances where the abandonment is due to conditions. If it were protests, etc then you either replay or it’s forfeited.

Before this he'd owned Almeria in Spain for 6 years, sold it on earlier this year. Took them a few years post takeover to get promoted to La Liga, then they went back down soon after. Spent a fair bit in that time, but not humongous amounts.

Goodish news in that Wrexham have to play Cardiff in their EFL Cup home tie in the same week that we play them on the Friday evening. Given the Welsh rivalry, hopefully that may give us a slight edge, if they've kicked lumps out of each other!

If I was Blackburn i'd appeal that all the way to CAS, may not win but make the EFL justify their decision in court.

Be almost as good as the time you were so stupid you misunderstood the law on reselling tickets.

My thoughts are that it’s very harsh on Blackburn but there’s enough of a precedent there that means going to court would be a total waste of time (and isn’t going to happen anyway)

precedent doesn't mean it always has to happen that way, blackburn are already talking about appeals so once again your fucking clueless as usual

anyway you've got to dash as 2 neighbours are arguing over a hedge

No, but precedents do tend to influence the outcome of court cases - I’ll be very surprised if it goes to the CAS.

You seem to have not even bothered to read what I said.

1) I clearly didn't say they would win

2) I said they should rather than they would and the reason given was not because they owuld win.

3) The are talking about appealing it and was clearly a split decision.

4) Also you seem to not understand precedence and how the courts would look at it.

Read what people say and you won't make mistakes like this and the time you mistook me saying the club would look down on reselling tickets as it is illegal with your thinking I said people should be arrested for giving others their tickets for games :)

I read your initial post just fine. Blackburn Rovers can appeal all they like, they aren’t going to waste resources on a court battle, hence why I laughed at the suggestion. Thanks for the insincere smiles though!

I guess the worry was that if someone gets sent off for something very serious, and the result's voided, then they escape punishment.

So a rule was put in to make sure red cards stood regardless.

Just conjecture, but it would make sense. You don't want someone getting away with a leg-breaker tackle if the game's called off.

Whilst this "only 10 minutes to go" line has been trotted out a lot, in reality the game had already had a lengthy stoppage due to issues with the Ref's headset, so there was probably nearer 20 minutes to play.

Let's not forget, Blackburn have already managed to lose a home game whilst 1-0 up in stoppage time this season so it's not really a foregone conclusion that they'd win this.

But if you're leading in a game with a short amount of time to go and the opposition are down to ten men is it the fairest?

I'd say it'd be fairer to play the remaining time and the opposition be a player down.

Ideally they should have to play the same players, but obviously teams will claim injuries so they can swap players if they want.

Whereas obviously goals are very much the latter so need to be wiped if the game is replayed

But how can you punish a player's action in a game that didn't happen?

the game didn't happen according to the history books so there is no real reason why the red should stand

Depends which way you look at it. Of course cards are for helping to enforce the rules and making the refs job easier. A player on a yellow will be more careful instead of diving in for instance. But players don't want a red because it puts their side at a big disadvantage of getting a result in the game.
