I've got a feeling if we go up, Lampard will be bang in line for the England job. Howe won't leave Newcastle and at that point it'll only be Potter that would take it.

Given his teams keep winning the Euro U21 comps I suspect Carsley is most likely to be the next England manager.

Carsley doesn’t want it (well said before he didn’t want it), and after him the English stocks are pretty low.
if Tuchel fails, then the fact he’s not English will be absolutely hammered in the media.
then you start going down the list - if Lampard is successful with us you’ll get the media and his contemporaries in the media calling for him to get the job
like I said, there’s only Howe and Potter in the premier league that are anywhere near considered, and given Potter’s rep at the moment he’ll be a no go

Carsley said he didn't want the job because he didn't feel ready for it. Since then he has won another U21 Championship and had temporary experience in the job itself. By the time Tuchel leaves I imagine Carsley will be ready to take the job on. Southgate stepped up from the U21's so there is previous in making the step up, and given Carsley has been far more successful than Southgate was in that role, and that many of the U21's he has successfully managed are likely to be features in the England team, he seems an obvious choice to me.
