If the window stays as is at 7pm, it doesn't feel like we have progressed though. At this moment, we're treading water. If anything, a little worse off. Because as much a Sheaf wasnt a starter, he was certainly a lot better option off the bench than Allen.

At some point our supporters will realise we cant compete financially with birmingham ( some of the biggest Revenue outside the premier league ) and Wrexham ( funded by Hollywood actors ) and stop comparing our transfer business

They look to be going for something like what Forest did in the Prem a few years ago. Sign half the planet and assume that the results will come. Which they probably will to secure a mid-table finish at least, but clearly we aren't in the position to gamble like that and I wouldn't want us to anyway.

Supposing that we actually had that cash legitimately, I still doubt we'd be splurging it on every random that comes up when you search on transfermarkt.

with the sale of sheaf I thought it would enable us to get Hughes or really strengthen with a marquee signing in the wide areas

And that's not me wetting the bed as people would say, just being realistic. Im hopefully another signing or 2 will come. But our lack of movement in Janurary, now backed with our lack of movement this summer is slightly worrying. We have a squad good enough for top 6. But with how the league looks, we had a real chance of pushing on and making a huge push for top 2. As it stands, were standing still.

Not trying to be negative, in fact hoping we have a few new additions but if not surely falls on the DOFs head. Been plenty of misses in Dean Austin’s reign and plenty of failed moves.

In all honesty, given the spend, Birmingham really should be up there. But given what both them and Wrexham have spunked i think they could both be better honestly. Like Wrexham, a lot of signings that are at their peak rather than improving too.
As for their revenue, i'm not sure its where Wagner says it is at, i'm sure its higher than ours but the geezer is dodgy as fuck. Of the 2 i'd imagine Blues are more at threat of being punished if this doesn't come off than Wrexham are.

I'm hoping we have some surprises coming however the lack of journo links to us is slightly worrying (even with DK plugging leaks you'd still hear from agents or other clubs). We have a good starting 11, however our strength in depth is poor. You look at the game vs Oxford... started to look very tired and you look at the subs bench, there's nobody to bring on who is at the same level or at the very least, change the profile of player to help change the game dynamic. If we're heading into the season with our subs bench having multiple goalkeepers and LBs again, we are asking for trouble.
