In Spain at the mo and went in a football shop and both Betis and Malaga are Hummel and have either embroidered Hummel logo and/or club badges, and the quality does seem a bit better.
I think it depends on the deal you sign.
and maybe because it’s franchised out a bit?
Castors would be shocking. I’d take Macron I think, but I do feel that even with the quality issues which could potentially be sorted, I like the idea of us having Hummel. It’s a throwback and we sort of suit it too as a club.
When I was in Spain a couple of years ago you could spot the knock off Malaga tops because they had sewn on badges rather than the genuine ones with heat pressed badges.

It’s all about margins.

Hummel will say you get this quality shirt with these features for x amount per shirt.

They’re probably given several options and told how much club will make per shirt.

Club will choose design with biggest margin to make the most money.

Regarding the badges the best one has been the rainbow Hummel shirt where badge was printed into fabric. Won’t ever come off!!

Although I have a couple of OG Hummel from 87/88 and those have still got the badges on unlike my two tone one that is 35 years newer!!!

Was in Gran Canaria two weeks ago and Las Palmas are Hummel as well, quality seemed better but it was all yellow home kits everywhere I looked whereas I was on what ended up a fruitless hunt for this one

Let’s face it they are all terrible. Would love a real disrupter to come in and produce something genuinely memorable but unlikely given the inbuilt conservatism of football clubs .
I suppose a change to a different manufacturer would provide something different enough in the first instance to be seen as a fresh look.

So Doug has spent time in Denmark talking to Hummel.

I wonder if we're not ditching them, but moving up a tier to deal more directly with Hummel, rather than via a UK licensee? Perhaps we'll get the higher quality shirts that people have spotted for Spanish clubs.

I returned both of mine yesterday. Stitching was shit on one, and the monzo was peeling off the other. The girl in the shop said that they've had so many returns and then added my two to a very large looking faulty pile. We either need a huge improvement from hummel or we need to fuck them off.

Could do with this being mentioned at the supporters meeting.

Good point. I'll add it next time we're asked if theres anything we'd like mentioning

Please could you mention the disparity in sizing too.

Medium 38-40
Large 42-44

Massive jump .

I saw a couple of very dodgy looking home shirts on saturday, and think the club played a blinder here
A few of the early pictures of the kit looked a little turquoise, and this was clearly replicated in some of the early versions that came out from the rip off sellers

If you fell for that, dont embarrass yourself further by wearing it to a game, just use it for decorating in or something, and take the hit

Yeah I spotted one and came to the same conclusion about being fooled by the launch photos.

The quality can’t be any worse than the original ones, Hummel letters coming off both my kids away tops after 1st wash.

Considering what they charge the quality is terrible.

That's lovely.

Wouldn't surprise me if Hummel are re making the pro line. The amount of pro kits with the rubber elements falling off is pretty worrying.
Could be a bonding issue onto the shirt material?

Looking at that if Hummel only have three English clubs to deal with why do our shirts always seem to be last minute?

Maybe they've got plenty of other foreign clubs on the books, or is it us taking ages to sort out sponsors?

Most kit brands probably use the same factories abroad to produce them. Then there is general sports wear and fashion wear. Looking at how many English clubs wear Hummel shirts probably tells you very little about the supply chain.

I'm someone's kitchen I'd wager. The gig economy strikes.
