For the bedwetters who complain when the King song is sung best not turn up today … I have a feeling it’s going to be loud !

I can't stand it, but why would I not turn up because of a song. Strange post.
If people want to sing it, good luck, let them crack on.

Woke up, saw the tweet and I just couldn't comprehend it. I was like its not April 1st so what's the catch.

Still can't quite believe it.

And to think a couple of weeks ago you had people trying to stir up a story that we were moving to the Butts :ROFLMAO:

The first I saw was an image in a WhatsApp group I was in and I dismissed it almost immediately. It looked fake and like a wind up, and I think the writing and text also made it look a bit like a practical joke!

I actually had to come on here to check, and there was already an 8 page thread!

Would be classic city to go out and lose 3 nil now 🤣

Obviously I want to win, but also, today’s result feels less consequential to me now!

Also, just want to state I didn’t trust Doug at first. Put it on here in the past. I didn’t have a reason to distrust him, but I felt like I needed a reason to trust him.

This is the reason I needed. What a bloke.

Dear Mr King

Great news. Now sort the WiFi and sound system out.

Thanks

I'd imagine that's his ultimate goal. But if he makes some cash and the club is in a good place, then everyone's a winner.

I think he'll still be here for a bit though. He's increase the value of the club exponentially over night, getting us up would rocket it even further so I think he'll hang around and see if we can achieve that in the next year or two

Yeah I think so. Think he likes being a football chairman but money talks… think it’s inevitable that a billionaire will make a move for us in time.

I wonder if in time the anecdote could become more of a traditional boozer? Feels too posh for me at the minute and maybe not many people use it if it became a standard pub?

Or maybe it's heaving every match day and I'm way off the mark I dunno

When their rental deal runs out I'd be tapping up the owners of Sky Blue Tavern and Dhillions, they both run fantastic operations imo

Was thinking, wonder if the club would move the sky blue tavern here and close the one in town

Genuinely gob smacked. For all those Doug doubters, give your head a wobble. Made my day

Genuinely feeling very emotional right now. Never thought it would happen without premiership money, coupled with remembering all the shit we’ve been through to get to this point. It’s quite a day. Hat’s off to Doug, well done. An owner who has genuinely brought the club forward.

It's not that bad, the location means it's a bit awkward. Watched some games in there though and the food isn't bad.
thats the problem, with where it is you're basically only ever going up there for an event.

you could look at making it a destination like the o2 with all the other things there but you really need the transport infrastructure to do that, not to mention it would cost tens if not hundreds of millions.

This is where I’m at.

Like if we got relegated now, it would be horrible, but at least we’d have a bloody stadium to play football in! Just seems like things can never be as bad as they once were, ever again.

Things will take a dip on the pitch at some point, it's inevitable. But at least we won't end up in bloody Northampton!

First Doug buys the stadium, then Tony's posted on the football.

I'm having a go on yhe lottery tonight!

I've got a feeling it's run in house. Not sure there's a huge amount you can really change in that space but renaming it and making it something more like the tavern would be fairly easy to do and very welcome.

It's fine as it is. You've got to remember we only use it for 4-5 hours every fortnight, most of the punters are here for other events, hotel stays, conferences, etc.

And it's pretty busy as it is on match day. And we have the fan zone as well.
