At this point the biggest concern for me is we have clearly missed out on our 1st, 2nd, and possibly beyond, targets. Which means we're now appearing to scratch around trying to push things together. Not a nice position to be in. I could of course be wrong and he's been No1 target all summer, but find it highly unlikely.

Quality signings are hard to get done, you cant just throw money at the problem we have. If nobody comes and nobody moves this window ill be surprised but honestly not shocked.
Nothing about this club shocks me anymore, its best to not overthink what Doug is doing. I just have learnt to trust his judgement as the outcomes are never really bad.

He played about 40 times in their promotion season and a decent amount in the PL.

Chris Mepham is going to end up back in the championship. Wrexham were linked but can’t see it now they’ve signed Doyle. Not one I’d be overly excited about but might be an option.

Mepham is a good cb who got promoted last season and has played quite a bit in the PL and at the top of this league.
