It would be idiotic to let Thomas leave before his replacement is in place. Too many things can go wrong in that scenario.

Replacement going to another club, failing a medical, not agreeing terms as they have you over a barrel etc.

Ultimately Sheff U will be challengers but so will we. And if they lose Hamer their squad is considerably weaker. This isn’t a Leeds of last season or Ipswich this season who are calling.
