I’m sorry, but you are not serious about getting promotion if you sell to a promotion ‘rival’. Don’t care about the fee. He’s fundamental to us.

There’s nothing to suggest that Southampton go up automatically this year, nor that we challenge for the autos. Could easily be playing them in the playoffs or fighting them out for automatics.

It would be disappointing if rudi goes. But I have faith in DK if he does. A good fee and reinvestment (which is likely to have been lined up already) is the model. I’d hardly heard of him before we signed him - they’ll be others and it’ll help the strength of the whole squad.

Anyway he’s not been sold yet.

If MVE went to Wolfsburg for example we get money and he goes to a higher level. Selling your best players to teams you expect to be up the top end challenging with is detrimental
