I took a little summer break, coupled with being here in America where I’m not as up to date on club news.

what’s the feeling as start of season approaches? Improved? Same? Worse?

Any danger of Leicester actually getting points deducted?
They should have taken their punishment before now. Instead they tried to kick the can down the road. You can't guarantee they haven't thought of another loophole but with the rules change it will be difficult.

They've mortgaged the rest of their Prem payments so they can continue to pay the wages of the players they can't get rid of. They're not good enough and on massive wages nobody wants to take on. No more Vardy but his 6 figure weekly wage has gone.

The best thing they can do is take what they have coming to them and rebuild.

I'm not sure about that. Massive gap between Premier League and Championship. You'll be up there irrespective of deduction. It'll be if you don't go up that you'll be in trouble.
That's what people said about Luton last season.

They're in a right mess from top to bottom. They need a striker who is willing to go to a club full of uncertainties. They have a manager that took QPR to 15th last season. Many of their supporters have given up.

Can't see anything but Ipswich 1st or maybe 2nd. If Leicester don't go up they won't have any Prem money coming in. They will become an average Championship side at best. Isn't it a shame 😂

I'd prefer to judge at the end of the window tbf, but we all hope that's the case with Leicester I'm sure.
I don't rate Birminghams team as much as some do, a lot of players we've not seen at the level, but I still have a feeling that Wagner wanker might bring in 1 or 2 big ones, break every rule going and hope not to get caught until they've been promoted. Much like the inbreds.

I fully agree.

We don't know how any side will look by September 1st. Sides you would expect to be near the top will change. Sheffield United don't look very strong but they will bring in some loans minimum.

Birmingham should be in the top half but they have more questions than answers. Will be interesting to see how they settle in. Will be good to watch the dramatics when they find out they're not as good as they think.

I thought Luton were in a strong position to be honest, fans united behind the manager, players mostly kept intact from the side that went up, it didn't seem outlandish to predict they'd be up there. Lesta however have disillusioned fans and players alike, a lot more disharmony and a manager who was probably a long way down the list of preferred candidates.

So they'll probably win the league

Blues fans have become such obnoxious cunts I'd genuinely almost forgotten about Leicester this summer.
My best mate is a Blues fan so I have to pretend I like them, in reality I actually hate them. I really want them to fail and not make the top six. They are now linked with signing Mikey Moore on a season long loan from Spurs.

I'm not so sure he wasn't the first choice manager or very close to it. They had to mortgage their remaining Prem money before they could afford to get rid of van Nistlelrooy. Cifuentes was on gardening leave after talking to WBA about their vacancy. He didn't get the job. QPR then received £500,000 compensation.

I can’t see Leicester getting anything other than a token points reduction.

The manager seems a sensible choice.

Every year we get people saying relegated clubs have all these issues. Ironically the only one that didn’t is the one than got successive relegations

They’ll be up there

Talk of their demise is possibly more out of hope than fact.
As you say, They’re bound to be up there but I don’t think many will be expecting them to win the league/walk away with it, which was the expectation last time they were in the Championship.
Longer term their future doesn’t seem that bright.
Death by a thousand paper cuts. Kinda like what happened to us…until it got really bad of course.

Yeh I have a mate who's a Blades fan a bit like that.
I have to be honest nearly all Blues fans I've met with only 1 or 2 exceptions have been genuine wankers. Luckily I don't come across many anymore as they don't seem to stray far from the area. For all their massive talk I've met multiple Cov fans since moving down south and I’ve yet to come across a single bin bag boy.

My bro's a Bluenose & he said it's dumb how Blues fans on the whole seem to be getting cocky over the upcoming season & that he'd be happy with a 10th place finish (all kidology though haha)

At last someone who agrees with my thoughts for the coming season. He might not be right about every player but the majority of it is correct. And on the clubs I put Ipswich as stronger than he says but agree with the rest.

We're an established Championship side with players that would cost a lot to assemble. Rudoni wouldn't surprise many if he was player of the season in the Championship. We have a side where nearly everyone has been together for at least a year. KKH seems to have just slotted in.

There's still business to be done but as things stand I only see Ipswich as stronger than us. But over a month is a long time.

Their owners are taking a massive punt on doing better than that. I reckon if they fail to get promoted in the next season or two it'll be intense financial difficulty for them.
