Unfortunately, facts don’t care about your feelings.

The fact of the matter is that Haji Wright has scored more goals playing upfront than off the left in less games…

In fact, Haji has scored 1 goal playing off the left hand side under Lampard.
I don't know why I entertain you because you talk some real rubbish and are constantly deflecting away from the real issue of the other forwards but if we are to play your game where watching games with your eyes is banned (as anyone with functioning ones can see Wright is better off the left), you also have to separate him playing in a 2 up top from playing through the middle in a 3 as they are completely different.

But wouldn't you expect a player to score more (quite a few more) playing as an out and out striker than on the left drifting in?

Right, so he scores an extra penalty playing LW…

That’s 11 goals at striker and 8 goals LW. Adjust for penalties, and the result is the same… 8 goals at striker and 7 at LW.

Despite the nitpicking, the overall picture is the same. Wright scored more goals in 23/24 playing as a striker than he did at LW in fewer games. This last season, the difference is even wider.

His best position is upfront and it’s not even up for debate.
Not for debate? Are you new on here? Some on here would prefer to argue night is day than admit there's a 1% chance of being wrong on something.

You got it 👍

Put the striker in the middle and put the left winger on the left. You know it makes sense.

Away kit maybe or a player? He’s normally spot on

See I just took this as the new kit came out today and he’s getting it.

If it was something don’t think it’ll be a kit as we’ve just released this one and will want people over the weekend to buy this one.

O'Day is right though. Wright will be seen as an option both through the middle and on the left. If we see another left sider come in I'd be amazed for that reason.
A CF and a right sided forward I can absolutely see.

Yes exactly. If EMC gets injured for example, it will mean Wright will go straight in at LW.

All our forwards should be versatile.

I suppose i wouldn't be surprised to see a CF that can also go right side for that reason, rather than 2 separate signings. Giving us that option to shuffle the pack with 1 more player rather than 2.
I believe Bertaccini who we were linked with can do that.

Of course it's an option. It's always best to have players that can play in more than 1 position. But to try and make out that it's best to take up the option without any injuries and play a striker on the left leaving the left winger without a place on the pitch is absolute madness.

What are you on about? It's called having options. Calling him a striker is gaslighting to try and make a point as we can all see he's a strong left sided player.

Something like...

LW: EMC, Wright
CF: Wright, Bertaccini, BTA
RW: Bertaccini, Sakamoto

Looks very strong as all your doing is trading out Simms for Bertaccini.
But will it break the bank and put us in financial ruin?

Dunno but it might upset a few clowns who don't understand squad rotation as well as some Simms fans.

What sort of formation is that?
1-2-1-7?

Are you saying Wright should play on the left when we have EMC fit or do you agree with me that Wright should play as striker in the middle and EMC on the left when both are fit?

I mentioned the options when needed. You've been on a right one the last couple of days.

Sigh... at the moment he should play through the middle because him there with EMC is going to be better than either one of them on the left with Simms or BTA. It's not that hard to grasp, neither of those strikers are good enough.
Get an actual good striker in and you'll see more rotation across the positions.

Then it wouldn’t be a player’s best position by definition?

With the current squad, yes. The point I’ve been making is that we need wingers more than strikers. We have 3 strikers behind Haji in the pecking order and unless we make a sale, we won’t bring anyone in. Personally, I’d sell BTA and look to bring in a player who is cross functional like the Belgian striker we were linked with who actually plays RW/LW/ST.

Put simply, if you’re moving your top scorer to a position that they score less goals in… you’ve weakened the team. You’re also left with in a bad position when both are injured which was the case for about 10-15 games last season.

Pass that onto Lampard because apparently he doesn’t have functional eyes nor Potchettino for that matter.

On the 2 upfront v 1 upfront, we know Haji played as a lone striker because he had a career before joined us.

Sorry to be blunt, but nothing factual supports your opinion. Your opinion is based off a spell in 2023/24 when we had a different manager playing in a subtly different way.

The 3 strikers behind Wright arnt going to score 20 goals between them, we need better.
Wright missed a good part of last season injured, and struggled for form when he returned, and hes starting this season injured by the look of it.
I'd say we definitely need another CF and we need to off load Simms or BTA, and Bassette may benefit from a loan move.

All this waffle to deflect attention away from the other strikers is genuinely staggering from you. I've made the point he's been forced to play through the middle more because the other strikers are hopeless, highlighted by Lampard not touching them with a 10ft pole in the play offs.
As I say, I'm sure you'll be fuming when we bring another forward in.

So you've spent all this time trying to have an argument with me then admit you agree with me 😂

Go find another idiot to try and have an argument with.

No I've literally said it from the start, for weeks and months actually. As I said, I'm not sure what you were struggling with tbh.

I've even said it all today. We need another striker when those you're trying to defend were saying we don't need a striker but a winger.

This is getting very silly now.

Mason Clarke still has a lot of work to do to establish himself in the team anyway

Wright is far more effective using his pace on the left side

Yes, far more dynamic from the left but I appear to have entered an alternate reality where that's not the case.

Do we want Wright on the left taking the place of EMC where he scores less goals or playing in the middle where he scores more goals?

I'm absolutely shocked you've joined in with this 🧐

He was having a make believe medical to sign for us in the make believe clinic, this is despite us not actually going after him. Mental.

Jus had a look at Callum Doyle's contract length and he's sign up till 2027 with a year option. I think man city will wait for the price they want or send him out on loan again. There's no reason for them to drop their asking price with so long to run on his contract.

Man City can ask 10-15-20m for Doyle all they like but the asset they have is a championship defender which means the buyers are championship clubs and I don't see many lining up to pay more than 6-7m maximum
