Totally agree.
I love taking the missus up the Butts on a Saturday afternoon when there's no football on.

Nice drink, decent level sport, and nothing riding on the result.

The CBS however...

I’m going to my 46th league game this season hopefully I’m 67 and I’m like that every away game

Fairly well known member from Malvern
I'm fast approaching 72. (My missus is 75 with alzheimers). I'm her full time carer, so can never get to games. Also, living in Malvern doesn't help! Anyway, I've survived four, yes FOUR heart attacks, had a double bypass and had 5 stents inserted over the last 20 years, but I still watch CCFC when they're on Sky or listen in to the CWR commentary. I wear my City top with pride, (both home and away tops). I've even convinced a great neighbour of mine (who is a Man Utd nut!), to follow our progress! He now loves the City as his 2nd team!
My first game at HR was in 1964. That got me hooked! I've since been a steward at Highfield Rd and seen some great games over the decades.
While at BBC CWR, I got to interview Gordon Strachan and also had a good bollocking off Ron Atkinson!
Do I think we'll make the play offs and Premier League footie next season? I can only hope so. 34 years in the top flight was an amazing achievement. I'm no longer in the best of health, and pray I outlive my missus. (She'd never survive on her own). As for reaching the Premier League, that would be the dream! I could die a happy old man! Lots of love to you all!

We have no devine right to do so and will have to be SO much better than we have been in the last two games.....

It would help if Lampard picked the right formation to help get the best out of the players at his disposal. For example two up front, Simms can't operate as a lone striker.

Whilst I am a bit nervous about this game, it's going to be nothing like some of the games of old

In the away end at Villa Park, 2-0 down and everyone forgot about the football and we all paid attention to the radio (yes that old) where I think it was Notts County vs Luton - I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, my memory isn't as good as it was. Their result went our way and we stayed up.

Or the game we had to beat Tottenham away and other results had to go our way. I couldn't eat until the final whistle had gone.

One of the things about being a Coventry supporter is life is never dull - be it in a good way, bad way or just disappointing

I can fully sympathise with the comments here. I was a season ticket holder for 37 years . I had moved away from Warwickshire with a 2 hr journey to go to the games. Also a number of friends had passed away who I attended matches with. I occasionally still go to home games but manage to watch all the games on tv one way or the other with thanks to my sons IT knowledge!
I find that I have to watch with no sound as I find it stressful. I am not sure I will be able to watch the game on Saturday and may just keep a check on the score. If we get to the playoffs I will then watch the recording. If you had told me this 20 years ago I would have said you were mad.
I still love the sky blues.

Blimey - if I had to resort to all those measures I think I'd realise CCFC,and football in general,is not for me

I remain philosophical, what will be will be.
That's not to say I'm not passionate about the City, and want them back in the premier league.
But I'd take another season of growth in the EFL where hopefully we will be title contenders next season.
Saturday is just another game with two more tough ones to follow if we are to make it up.
Far too many other things for me to stress about than a football game.

I remember that away game at Spurs ,think I had 6 pints before the game to calm myself down still didn't work.

The tension that day was incredible with no let up because due to the late kick off evenat HT we were keeping an eye on the other 2 games which were in progress.
It was an amazing experience, but I still maintain, if we'd gone down that day the club wouldnt have ended up in the shit it did.

Wasn't that also the season when Boro basically decided without permission to b) say they were not turning up for game because they had too many injuries and were deducted points ?

We might not of moved grounds too. We might of had to stick with Highfield Rd

Look at Luton, loving it when they beat us at Wembley and 2 seasons on, they are fighting to stay in the Championship. Wembley a distant memory.

Can’t control it, live it, hold it as a memory and then move on and be in the present id say! Be level with the highs and level with the lows

I can definitely relate to this.

I’ve had some major life issues over the past few years, and have had to focus on other things aside from my football.
I’ve taken myself away from it, including on Sky Blues talk, and have struggled to watch games and for this season have barely attended.

I’ve missed it though and as my life is now in a better place I want to enjoy my football again and want to be far more engaged for next season. PUSB!

Being involved in playoffs isn’t stressful, last day of season regelation deciders when we were Div 1 / premier league however……..

I love Tewkesbury. Me and the wife open walked up and down the high street browsing. We'd stop off at the Nottingham Arms for a drink, then walk back to our car.
Would love a meet up sometime!
