And add to that they all play each other and Leeds & Southampton meet last match of the season
Ipswich are still 18 points above us. That's 6 wins. Still think we could catch them but not Southampton or Leeds.

Would love to do it! But personally 18 points is a bridge too far methinks. If we got 6 on the bounce and they lost 6 very quickly then that would set the cat among the pigeons.

I think at absolute best 4th is catchable but seriously unlikely because Leeds are in form. Realistically it’s 5/6th.

Expecting us to outperform teams in the top three by a point per game pretty much is basically asking us to win all of our remaining games and they have a dip in form compared to the first half of the season.

As we expected but Robins pretty much confirmed unless he changes his mind he's not signing.

I guess the next question is will the club look to cash in on him before the deadline or let him go for free in the Summer

i think 2nd needs around 2 points a game over the season or close to it
we would need something like 16/17 wins from the last 19

it aint gonna happen

Yes, once in the last 10 years 83 was enough, but usually it's around 90 or just over. And with such a group of strong teams this season vying for 2nd I doubt even that will be enough.

Ipswich are potentially the most catchable based on recent form, but probably still a big ask.

I'd go as far as saying 2nd this season could be going up with a record points total. Southampton are on a 20 game win run. The top 3 sides are all averaging over 2 points a game. 2 points a game is 92 points.

The average for 1st place is 94 points. 2nd is 87 points. The record for 1st is 106 points. The record for 2nd is 93 points which has happened twice. This season 3rd could beat that.

The good thing is they are taking extra points off the other clubs. 6th this season I think will be low again unless the top 6 continue as they are doing now. But it would be very unusual for the top 6 to stay the same with so many games left.

18 points in 19 games tho. Huge ask
Leicester were 10 and 13 points clear of 2nd and 3rd before the last games. If Ipswich beat them on Monday and Southampton win an easier game the lead will be cut to 4 and 7 points.

The halfway point was only 4 games ago. The only side in the top 6 I can see having a bad run is Ipswich. Been saying it for weeks. They have a good team but their squad isn't that strong compared to the others near the top. And this is the time of the season where injuries are more frequent and players need more of a rest.

Last eight their form has dropped significantly to mid table level, but it needs to go to relegation candidate for us to stand a chance at overtaking them. And that’s before you get to Leeds and Soton needing to slow down too. Never say never but it’s well outside what I’d call realistic

Given that we have been in better form than them over the last 14 games Ipswich must have built up that lead in less time so not impossible but given second is very, very unlikely I'm not sure it matters. Any play off spot is as good as any other? Or do we want Leeds in the final? ;)

You would ideally want to finish 5th and have Ipswich in the semi, then hope to beat Southampton or Leeds in a one off at Wembley.

You say current, it’s over 20 games unbeaten now-just ridiculous.

There whole team is absolutely class.
I think Ipswich will fall down and top three will be Leicester, Southampton, Leeds

Ipswich will lose to Leicester so Leeds will start to bridge that gap

I didn't say we will go past Leicester. We won't. Well too late. We will end up 4th or 5th. When I showed how quickly they could be caught it wasn't by us. That's why I said if they lose to Ipswich on Monday their lead will be cut against the next two sides from 13 and 10 points to 4 and 7 points in 2 games.

You could see that they're losing the plot a little after their post match interviews. Beat Ipswich and they should be safe. Lose and it will be squeaky bum time. 2 defeats on the bounce and clubs within touching distance. It isn't as though Leicester are as good as most people seem to think.

To be honest they've only dropped 16 points all season , they are as good as people think
