Even with max Godden struggled in a front 2 which I felt would suit him to me he doesn’t look fit and may need a rest
I think you should just start a thread called “10 reasons why Godden is garbage” and have done with it.

To say he has zero attributes when his career record is miles head of the other options we have is a bit silly

You love a misdirection.

What has our other strikers got to do with him having zero attributes?

And as I also said, I’m not writing him off as his career and the consecutive hat tricks suggest he must have something about him. But so far I’m struggling to see what that is.

Not sure if you were there today, but we lost something offensively when he came on.

Thought mason was poor through out, chasing shadows all night, since scoring his hattricks Godden has looked so out of his dept, don't know what's wrong with him. Overall I think we can be proud of the team, they're a horrible team and an absolute nothing club, concentrate on the league and make sure we win promotion.

You really need to start enjoying this season and enjoy the positives because in my 34 years supporting the team this year is pretty much an anomaly so far.
You can’t answer as you know hes been average at best past weeks I like Godden but he doesn’t seem sharp or fit enough and had struggled in that lone striker role in recent weeks if this was Baka or Biamou we would be in meltdown

did you go tonight ?
Yes I was there, I'm a season ticket holder and have also seen all the away games either live or online.

The reason we didn't win tonight is Biamou didn't take his two chances after we were one up.

Agreed with the changes missed mate it’s more all round forward play with Godden at present I just feel max offered us a lot more against a good championship defence

Biamou and Bakayoko may have missed a few good chances tonight but Godden doesn't even get himself into the positions to have chances. How many shots has he had since Tranmere? How many times has he touched the ball inside the opposition box?

What a stupid thing to say- of course these are the fine lines. The fact is though we score as many last minute goals as we concede, and if you want to expand that out then we’ve come from behind to win lots, not exactly the hallmark of a side that “chokes”. Did you go away and work out the points we’ve gained at the death as well or is this just a general moan session based on one game v a team in the league above?

So stop with this absolute bullshit about “choking”- bad defending is a very different thing to bottling it.
Fuck off you arrogant prick. I'm allowed an opinion even if you dont agree.

Tonight twice 92nd and 120 minute
Oxford away 94th minute
Doncaster 93rd minute
Peterborough 95th minute
Sunderland 90th minute
(And also Milton Keynes 75th minute)

Theres a difference between coming back fro a goal down than defending a lead. Bad defending is caused by bad decision which is affected by nerves and making tired decisions, that's bottling it, especially when it's only a one goal lead.

The Highs and Lows of following the Sky Blues. If you can’t see games out (twice) you can argue you don’t deserve it. But tonight we were the better team for long periods. They only had one tactic...long throw after long throw... we played more football. But twice we let them past us on the touch line...for the first O’Hare should have put ball and/or man into stand not go to ground.
But proud of how we played over both games...deserved to win. Hope robins can pick them up for Saturday and the run of games to come. Nothing to fear, everything to gain PUSB

Robins will probably have something to say about that, it isn't right.
Jesus- what single iota difference it would have made? Is that end normally swamped with Sky Blue or something?

One minute people are calling them “chokers” yet then they want them taking penalties in front of 4,500 of their baying fans. And for a professional footballer, and especially one used to playing in front of almost empty stands at home, it would have made zero difference.

If I was a Birmingham supporter instead of being chuffed to bits they got through I’d be embarrassed how their team could be outplayed in two games and out supported.

No disgrace tonight but we really do need to start putting the chances we create away as it will be out Achilles heal if we’re not careful .

Bizarre that people are gutted to go out like that, after all that effort over 2 games? What player destroying anyway? It stings, and people are just frustrated. We're not all emotionless Mr Spocks.
No but by the same token not all of us are slating individual players & calling them shit, some of us have a bit of perspective.

ST Andrews observation on having now tried two bits of the ground . (Game frustrating but to be fair the lesta game wouldn’t have been pretty) The Gil Merrick stand is much better than the Kop stand. More space and much better concourse , toilets etc.

Give me this team and the games any day compared to what we have had.
We played well, we didn’t finish well, Max was a sitter in normal time, more than any chance Godden presented to him and would have made it 2-0 and it’s game over. No problem, strikers miss chances but they become costly.

We lost or had the game pulled back from a pure fluke, stroke of luck, hopefully we get a bit of that luck in our run in for promotion.

I’ve done the maths and it’s pretty even - equal points gained and lost in the last 10m. You’ve forgot Tranmere at home.

Gained: Donny, Pompey, Blackpool, Wimbledon
Lost pts: Oxford, Peterborough, Shrewsbury, Tranmere, Sunderland

The Peterborough and Oxford examples are pretty neutral ones, as we took the we took the lead late on, 91st and 85th minutes respectively, so we didn’t ‘choke’ per se.

It was shit to concede so late on two occasion in the same game, but cup football is a different breed and at the end of the day, it was against a Championship side.

75th minute lol, proper last minute stuff. The lengths people go to in order to prove that their negativity is justified.

They toss a coin for choice of ends which didn't happen, if we had won the toss we would have taken them at the end with our fans behind the goal, we still may have lost of course.

Just got back.

Absolutely gutted, losing on pens after conceding a flukey goal which was a cross all day long.

Played out heart out. Dabo MOTM closely followed by the two centre backs. SBA were in top form as always!

However, we have to take our chances, simple as that. The game should've been out to bed 10 mins before injury time, big lessons learned.

Onwards and upwards, we have a cracking end of the season to look forward to!

Westbrooke has a great chance at 1-0 with that pull back just didn’t connect with it inside the box

Godden bashing is unreal... scores on his debut, comes back from a season ending injury after a couple of months and scores two hat tricks against good sides , to keep us well in the hunt... and people are calling for his head after he doesn’t score for a few games ?
Have a day off... strikers that cost a shit load more than godden haven’t performed as well as he has this season and truth be told he prob is only 60% fit/sharp
At this level and with our budget, Defenders will make mistakes for silly goals, midfielders will give the ball away easily and strikers will go games without scoring... yes we get frustrated at the time, but surely after you calm down and get home you just realise it’s where we are and the budget we have. We are doing well this season, better than we have for years... maybe since the hill era, enjoy it , embrace the players we have that are giving you some superb footy and accept we are where we are and we have a budget for what we have - and are most likely over performing!
