I imagine when this settles down - Bury and Bolton will be on around -30
I think that draw at Bolton , will be in effect giving the rest a 2 points head start

I would normally say 'what are the EFL to do?' The clubs have overspent beyond their means (sound familiar), Bury achieving promotion at the expense of others whilst doing so, Bolton enjoying years in the top flight watching players like JJ Okocha etc so they deserve their punishment.

But on this instance, Boltons manager Phil Parkinson asked for the last game to be postponed (think it was Wycombe) because it was too much for the nippers to take on. The EFL refused which I guess would question any 'duty of care' policy so I do think the EFL have got this one wrong. Seems like Bolton have made the decision and made it public without telling the EFL first.

I genuinely feel like both Bolton and Bury will be expelled from the league for this season (with our result expunged) and it continuing as a 22 team league. I can then see them starting next season in L2.

I'm amazed they're both still in. Neither team can meet the league requirements to fulfil their fixtures.

Not only that but if both teams have good cup runs, they'll have a fixture pile up...particularly Bury. Think they have until Friday to produce what's requested of them by the EFL otherwise they're defo out.

Just had a very quick glance on the Bolton forum and the consensus seems to be the players are all cunts and don’t deserve to be paid anyway. (Not the youngsters)

EFL have made an absolute mess of this. Shouldn’t have been allowed to start this season. Sort it out and comeback next year shoulda been the message. It’s a shame for the great clubs but this can’t go on and a precedent must be set

I think as fans of a “crisis club” ourselves most of us would feel for their fans and sacrifice the two lost points to see a club stay solvent

Surely they can't postpone their own game just because their squad is crap? Only fair thing to do is give Doncaster 3 points as much as I don't want them getting them for free. The fact it says, "I will be discussing the implications with the EFL" suggests they've decided to do it without prior consultation.

They don’t do that. If Bolton have to drop out all results are expunged up to a certain number of games, then it’s a pro-rata basis but that would be after Xmas

The EFL bend to assist clubs survive to ensure they survive as they have with us and so they should, we aren’t out of the woods by a long chalk unless this ground situation is sorted we might be in the smelly stuff ourselves.

That piece of scum Appleton is taking liberties after seeing how weak the efl are, the head of the efl should be replaced immediately

They will be deducted more points for this. Whole thing is a mess
Is that even a punishment? If they were taken off this season it wouldn’t make much difference really, they must be resigned to playing in L2 next year.

Unless they defer them until next season...

They have both had enough time to get sorted already the efl should expel them at the end of the month unless sorted

I suggested this before we played them, it's harsh on the fans but would i think be for the best in the long run. Both teams are practically down anyway and it is not fair on other teams wondering if games will go ahead or not.

No, it’s not. But it will be the standard EFL response

It's an interesting one, would you rather your team were expelled to the league below for the start of next season or play out the whole season knowing they'd be relegated 100% with no chance of survival? Either way it must suck to support Bolton or Bury right now.
