He is very capable, and it’s credit to him that he’s established himself as such being from the academy, it’s very rare and clearly incredibly difficult to do. But we aren’t getting £5m for him, and notwithstanding improvement on his part we aren’t going up with Eccles as a regular starter.
In the last 3 years, at that age in central midfield (loosely) there's only Hamer, Glen Kamara, Lewis O'Brien and Gabriel Sara that have left for £5m or more.
There's some very good players signed for less than that as well.
I might be wrong, but just don't see that you could get £5m for...
Can't see anyone offering £5m for Eccles, he's 25 so likely little resale value in 2-3 years. He's an average championship player, so you're looking at bottom half sides looking to consolidate, seems expensive to me.
BTA is a proven champ striker, can make a big difference to teams in need...
I know we’re not keen on loans but I’d be trying to get that Donley from Spurs next season. Has been great for Leyton Orient and would provide some creativity through the centre that we sometimes miss.
They definitely set up to keep it right away and given they had a lead did the same again. However, you can’t seat that deep and think you’ll get away with it. If Wright scores that header or a ball bounces a different way from a cross then we’re through.
Agree with this. Torp and EMC are good players but I would have had both on the bench tonight.
CB cover is a worry. I would probably pick Lati, but I don't really know why.
Grimes was genuinely superb first 20.
After that we fell apart.
They played through us far too easily, and we got punished.
Big players returning, lots to still play for, play offs still on!
I get it with other ex players, but for any fan under 30, Gus and Vik are the best players they’ve seen at the club. Is it surprising that they’re lauded like they are.
Another take could be that he was signed for 1.5m, contributed absolutely loads and left for nearly 10x what we paid for him...
Always felt like with Vik we’d have stood a good chance of staying up.
8 new starters needed elsewhere but there’s the 15 goal man, and the guy who’s going to give every PL defence a hard game.
Love the current team but there’s no guarantees any of them make the grade a level up.
