You just do what you can really. Doug gives him the most money he feels he can give, Austin and Lampard try and get the best they can get for that money, Lampard and coaches coach the shit out of them. Chances are we get relegated but I feel like A. We could give it a good shot B. We'd be in a...
You don't aim for relegation, there is no way a manager like Lampard would think that way, but you have to be ready for it of course. Having loads of players still around that have already achieved promotion would be helpful, see Ipswich as an example of what not to do.
The entire first 11 (and possibly more) makes the matchday squad imo, we can't afford to replace that many nor do we want to spread the money too thin.
They were able to cash in good money on someone called Bellingham too. We don't have any incredibly average midfielders with that surname unfortunately.
I won't be in as big of a rush to bin everyone off as some on here will that's for sure. Think there are some that could surprise but we will of course need to spend good money to stand a chance.
Hard to say how many would be of obvious Prem standard. Personally found Le Fee underwhelming for what he was supposed to be at Championship level and he seems ok. I've said before I think if we start next season in the Prem my money would be 5 players currently here start on opening day.
They had convinced themselves that their league one winning team was already Championship play off standard, then they added superstars like Kyogo into the mix and got completely drunk on thinking top 2 was almost guaranteed. Backed up by clueless YouTube pundits.
The reality has been...
Would be the magical 'Le Fee' type deal people keep talking about i think. Loan with an obligation if we are to get promoted which Everton would see as likely looking at us imo. Also the only way we could afford the fee/wages.
