Someone who shouldn't have been there? Is our manager not allowed in the press box to do an interview?!
It was clearly the fans clapping and why Pressley was trying to stir things is anybody's guess, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he didn't know what was going on behind him...
I was sat almost behind the ref so I had the same line of site as him and in all honesty you couldn't tell what had happened to the ball. He didn't go through him as they were almost side by side but he did dangle a foot there and I wouldn't have had any massive complaints had it been given. The...
Yep, probably not a penalty in truth but if he goes down I've seen them given. By the same token I wasn't 100% sure the Fleck one was a penalty either and the refs position makes it almost impossible for him to give as he's guessing about what sort of contact was made to the ball or man.
That's impossible for the ref to give as Flecks body stops him seeing if there's any contact on the ball and even after a couple of replays I'm not sure it's any more stonewall then the one where Meredith stumbled in your box. Might not have happened if you only had 9 men anyway! ;)
I agree that he was moving away but he certainly wasn't running and he was deliberately in the line of the free kick and attempting to slow it down/stop it being taken. Of course our lad could have waited to take the free kick but why should he have to? Causing time to be wasted is also a yellow...
,
Sorry about any trouble that happened after the game, unfortunately we do have a scummy minority within our support and the right minded fans and the club themselves are trying to stamp it out.
I don't know why he'd make it up but he did. I was still in the ground at that point and you can even hear that it's multiple people clapping and somebody says "well done Phil mate" Pressley was sat with his back to Parkinson at that point so probably saw him walk past and then assumed that's...
to me it was a good decision by the ref as your lad was clearly trying to get in the way of the free kick being taken quickly rather than retreating the necessary yards.
I've just said on another thread that it's not Parkinson clapping and it's disappointing that your manager makes out that it is. It's the fans in the executive boxes clapping Parkinson as he's coming out for his interview.
As for the ref, both teams got a man kicked in the face with no action taking (Gary Jones took one in the first half), Thomas got yellow carded for a shirt tug when Reid was running at the back line which was fair enough IMO and I wasn't sure about the Fleck penalty as Flecks body was blocking...
It's not Parkinson clapping, it's the fans in the executive boxes behind him clapping our manager coming out to do his interview. If you listen closely you can hear that there's multiple people clapping and somebody says "well done Phil mate". That's why I was disappointed that Pressley tried to...
