Where’s the West Brom match thread

A rare moment of universal accord on SBT. We all hate the international break. All we get for it is a jet lagged and knackered centre forward

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Grimes was a player purely bought for the present, with little conceivable sell on potential, in fact he may only decline in value. Nor was he purchased from the payout from a major sale. It was a strategic purchase but with probably no more than 2 years in mind. The Rushworth loan is very...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

..and what seems obvious to me is that DK takes a much more considered, strategic approach to ins and outs. In the Summer a primary effort was on clearing out temporarily or permanently the deadwood even if it meant risking leaving us short in key areas like central midfield. And then the...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Not sure I understand this comment. Didn't Grimes come in 2025? I don't think anyone can dispute the business model has changed with the appointment of Lampard - coincidentally or not. I remember Saddlebrains had inside info on the bid for Grimes and without naming him came on here expressing...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

I am astounded how radically the business model has changed. Grimes was a major break - 29 and over £3m. We used to suffer vertigo if it went as high as £1m. Since then we have spent more than we spent on Grimes on two players who are essentially back ups - KKH and Woolfie. We will never know...

... do you really think they are good enough for the next level, really? Particularly Thomas.

Always thought this would be a tough fixture. It's going to be a cagy one niller either way imho. Just hope we can nick it EMC back in the starting line up, I assume at the expense of Eccles as BTA is undropable Cameo from Rudi

We definitely need a left winger, but EMC, much as I have always liked him, does have to up his game. Rather than giving all the credit to EMC, it might have been something said by Lampard at half time.

    Sheff Utd Player Ratings

I have always struggled with Torp and Eccles being on the pitch at the same time, particularly from a distance; and one is numbered 28 and the other 29

This guy seems to fit the Torp model, and he is now delivering big time

This belongs on the Wrexham thread as much as here but we were overly focused on the long ball out l. Need to mix it up a bit. Robins would have been cross I wonder if Haji Wright is suited to being target man for long balls. He prefers it to his feet. May explain his ineffectiveness lately...

Match Thread Wrexham AFC - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 31st Oct

If it were me (and I know nothing) I would be play 4-3-3 as usual, but with Woolfie rather than Thomas and Allen in midfield doing the snappy dirty stuff. Then bring Torp on after an hour or so to get him up to speed Oh and I'd say to EMC that if he wants to play a full 90 minutes he's got to...

I can rely on FP to find something wrong with almost anything I post. He's like a stalker. Better check your maps and the league tables. Chester miles down and Chester and Shrewsbury are both in England. Not sure Tranmere are competition, but the Wirral is sort of No Man's Land.

Bigger catchment than Nuneaton. My father in law was a regular attender and he lived in Abergele on the north Wales coast. 25 miles away. Wrexham have only tranmere to compete with.
