Actually, I will correct myself. We went down the leagues because R and R had trashed the club completely. Relegation to the old Div 4 was down to the state of the club

I don’t mind what formation we play, even a vintage 2-3-5 but if we play Simms up front, then he needs someone else alongside him. Too often, we have Simms working centrally but wider players and midfielders aren’t joining him fast enough.

Agree. I think the club were gambling on Gyokeres moving……and probably still are. As for midfielders, the club made moves for at least 3 midfielders but in each case, the players turned City down. Or rather, elected to go elsewhere

I guess it’s possible that FL has to get the wage bill down before he can bring in new players.
