Actually, I will correct myself. We went down the leagues because R and R had trashed the club completely.
Relegation to the old Div 4 was down to the state of the club
Posted elsewhere but City’s financial situation is beginning to attract media attention.
Not massive attention but enough for comments about City needing to sell.
Over the next few seasons, City will begin to struggle. I think thats a genuine concern
There was an article in the national press last December time.
It surprised me that no one seemed to pick up on it.
The general thrust was Coventry had thrown money around but the money spent - especially on wages - was unsustainable and King had realised it.
More recently, you can see...
SISU? Disaster ? Lol
They did a pretty good job. Relegation was almost inevitable, given the mess left by Richardson and Robinson.
Two relegations followed by two promotions and a cup win and almost promotion back to the PL.
All this garbage about SISU being the worse owners City ever had is...
Brighton qualify for a pay on because the deal was that they get a proportion of any profit City make.
Depending on who you believe, BHA might get 50% of anything City make now
I don’t mind what formation we play, even a vintage 2-3-5 but if we play Simms up front, then he needs someone else alongside him. Too often, we have Simms working centrally but wider players and midfielders aren’t joining him fast enough.
Get fit soon, Sheaf.
We can’t afford weakness in midfield and sadly, now there is a risk he will be sold for a cut-price in the summer, to stop him running his contract down.
I think it unlikely he will sign a new contract
Agree. I think the club were gambling on Gyokeres moving……and probably still are.
As for midfielders, the club made moves for at least 3 midfielders but in each case, the players turned City down. Or rather, elected to go elsewhere
