We need a keeper who will be vocal in organising the defence at set pieces in my opinion. The defence needs to know what the keeper will be doing (ie coming for the ball ). In this instance defenders can concentrate on marking attackers rather than wondering what the hell the keeper is doing .

Agree completely. Experience such as that also organises defences at set pieces. Collins is clueless in this regard.

Keeper on loan wouldn't be a bad idea preferably with plenty of experience from a PL club. There's usually a few of them around. Collins just isn't cutting it for me .

I'm not saying that they are not upgrades . JDS was bought to be first team , he clearly isn't. I'm not constantly banging on I'm just stating that when they are starting they're falling well short of the standard needed to be effective in matches. Surely to justify a squad place they should be...

Observational not emotive . Neither have performed well over an extended time frame.

The signing of 2 experienced nasty bastard leader types would help the team hugely in my opinion . One in Central defence , one in midfield. We need more grit and people who are going to yell at others . This would be a massive benefit on the pitch.

But this is the essence of my issue with JDS. We are trying to find a role for him because he isn't good enough in the one we bought him for.

There had better be a bloody good replacement lined up for him . It appears that he seriously undervalued .

McNair is just the type of no nonsense leader defender we need.

I do however think that Torp has huge potential. It's just a question of how rapid his development is and how quickly he adapts to the rigours of Championship football
