2nd half disappointing. It is easy to forget how well we played in the 1st.
Overall, very pleased with start to the season (set piece defending aside).
Wasn't at the game, but watching YouTube vids it seemed that lots of our fans were too shocked to celebrate the goals eventually... Surely we don't score goals as good as Torp's second, do we?!
Blimey... what a blinder Doug and his team have played this window :) An incredible 20th anniversary this is, makes all the venting about lack of transfers seem a bit silly now!
Key thing in Lampard's eyes is probably that he was forced into a formation change last year, but if we get this guy in that will not happen this season.
This idea that KKH was a waste of a signing if MVE stays is hilarious... As if Lampard would not have realised that there was a chance MVE might not go! Complete tosh. The real risk was last season when we had only Lati (gulp) as genuine back up if MVE got injured.
Think Saka's close control etc. means he is particularly useful in home games when the opposition often sit back. But Rapha has the potential to be useful for us in away games (especially in the 2nd half against tired legs) where we are under the cosh and there is more space for him to operate...
Wonder if that player we were linked with (Lamine Fanne) will feature for them tonight... He has got a long time left on his contract, so I would be surprised if we went in for him (ie not best value for money)
Wilson
KKH Perry Bidwell Batanwi
Rapha Allen (C) Andrews Brau
Simms Obikwu
That team will never happen in a million years, but it's what I would go with :)
