SUICIDAL TACKLING - Will they ever learn (1 Viewer)

Yet again another spate of suicidal tackles reducing teams to 10 and even 9 players on the park at the weekend.

The majority of these "tackles" involve players completely missing the ball by yards but homing in on opponents legs with full venom - many are under the ref's nose so surely they realise it's a one way ticket to the dressing room even before they launch.

It's a miracle there were no broken limbs - it came pretty close at times.

A straight RED means an automatic three match ban, a weakening of the team in numbers and a selection headache for the manager next game.

I know all the modern game cliches, a mans game, heat of the moment etc but are they that stupid not to realise the consequences - many of the tackles are in uncontested areas of the pitch posing little immediate threat.

So please managers and coaches sort this stupidity out and keep 11 players on the pitch it's what the fans pay for.

The wise thing for Bigi to to do was get get on the ball and let a guy twice his weight steamroller him ,which is what TRippier was attempting ,to make Bigi back out of the challenge ,istill don't get it ,if there had been contact with the player foul ,sending off,no contact involved .

Think that based on the first few performances Bigi was told and encouraged by the coaches /management to get stronger & tougher. He was a little lightweight. Think he has taken it in and tried too hard. Got to get the balance right but ...... was one mistake

I must have watched Bigis tackle twenty times on i player ,i still think it was fucking brilliant,i've just seen three worse in less than two games in LC highlights ,one booking for Carragher ,that feffing ref had it in for us ,wanker played nearly 8 mins injury time, thats five minutes over that allowed for subs and goals ,please don't tell me i'm unobjective .
