Wood back in and man of the match for me. he pretty much had Miller in his pocket where Cranie was always suspect. Also offers a goal threat and gives the team around him confidence. get him fit asap.
Anyone miss McShefrey today? Deagan is offering so much more.
Like Bigi back on and want to see more of him by will not underestimate Thomas's performance though.
Hussey was much better and shows why he is going to be good while Cyrus is making the right back spot his own.
Big shout for bell today who is playing with more confidence and is the best crosser we have, putting in plenty today. Can be a goal threat. Keep it up.
Juke is a 100% and deserved his goal. Sometimes think he should be scoring more but his confidence is rising. Platt though he did well enough feel McDonald is a man in waiting and I sincerely hope Thorn does not break the lads confidence and he gets on soon and starts knocking in the half chances we will need to make that vital difference when needed.
See they must have thought about throw ins during the 2 week break too!
Overall a good solid performance but not without some nervy beginnings and I want to see that eradicated from now on.
Leeds? Pretty unknown this season either dreadful or good. they certainly have not sparkled this season yet so we have every chance to go there and try and consolidate a bit.
It really doesn't look that bad does it?

Didn't you post a similar thread after the Derby game about how we are not that bad? After that we were hammered by Ipswich threw away points against Reading and Blackpool and were rolled over by Barnsley.

Don't jinx us again

was gonna say the same thing!

1 swallow dosent make a summer, could have half a dozen or more out for leeds after todays injuries.

tis funny tho some of the reaction we get off our fans after a win, shows how bad we have become.

it's just 7 points off the playoffs. Everyone had us doomed a day or two ago. I keep saying there is a long, long season ahead. The top few are all shaky still. I much prefer to start slow and gain momentum!

Darn it Paxman, I was going to start a thread entitled "Can we make the playoffs?" in your honour, but you've effectively beaten me to it again!

Deegan is the midfielder we've lacked since Gunnar's departure. A little bit of everything, gets stuck in, gets forward, except Deegan can pass.

You have to hope that if you take today's team and add an on-form McDonald and either Bigi or McSheffrey in for Bell (IMO) then you've got the makings of a decent mid table Championship side.

Since Gunnars departure? Not since we signed Gunnar?? OK a bit harsh, but he's def the midfielder we've craved since Gunnar's 2nd season with us and decided he wasnt going to perform!

He is like a brand new signing, and a very welcome addition!

Gunnarsson was outstanding his first season, just because the following season he wasn't as good doesn't mean he didn't perform. He was still one of our better players people forget he was only like 20 years old at the time and maybe the pressure, speculation etc. got to him a bit.
I know it doesn't really matter too much but I don't like to see players slagged off especially players like Gunnarsson who gave maximum effort every time he played for Coventry City.
Like I say even though he may not have reached the heights of his first season I believe he still was one of our better performers throughout his city career.

Agree completely. Deegan has always had potential.

We need him to remain free of injury now.

Very promising stuff. Gunnarsson was always overrated by the fans. Deegan can be so much better

Did you go to school?
I'm getting a little tired of people implying you said something different?!
A mere observation to tickle the fancy. It's not a statement of my prediction.

Hey Thorn said he might resign tonight....you should be all over that one!

I agree with P/W, Wood did look a lot more secure and a threat at attacking set pieces. I'm a fan of Cranie but Wood/Keogh looked quite tidy.

Deegan just looks like he sees the game and a different speed to everyone else, looks relaxed on the ball.

Also for all the Platt knockers, I think he puts defenders on edge and off balance. Him and Juke wore Forest down and they were our front two when we did well early last season.

Good signs, I'm just looking to stay competitive within the bottom eight and hope we ain't in the bottom three when game 46 is over.

Yes I went to school, but they didn't teach me whatever language you are speaking. Sorry but I really don't understand what this quote means...you seem angry, though!

But there you have nailed it on the head. It is a long, long season ahead. Unless you know somewhere we can get hold of some magical elixir that will keep everyone injury free, healthy and free form burn-out and tiredness, this long, long season ahead is going to prove our downfall.

This will be a testing time... 6 matches in a very short period of time! The last thing we needed was a 100 minute match right at the start!
