Superb news, coincide this with the shop opening with release of new kit and hopefully one or two signings by then to build optimism.

I know. All this stuff they're doing it annoying. You must be struggling to come up with anything to moan about. Even Pressley is gone so you can't give us one of your bullying tales. Don't worry, sure something will turn up.

If you haven't bought now why wait until July ?

EARLY BIRD SEASON TICKET PERIOD EXTENDED!

The Sky Blues' early bird period on Season Tickets is going into extra time.

We are in the process of moving our superstore at the Gallagher Retail Park to a new unit that will be run in partnership with Just Sport at Arena Park.

The current superstore will close at 3pm on June 25 before the new shop opens on July 1 and to recognise this short period without a retail outlet, we're extending the early bird period until the end of July 5.

Online sales will be available throughout the period via www.ccfcshop.co.uk and telephone sales will be available on 024 7699 2326 on June 26, 29 and 30 from 9.30am until 5pm.

Chief executive Steve Waggott said: “As supporters can see, there is a great deal of activity behind the scenes from a retail and commercial perspective but it leaves us with this window of just under a week when one store closes before the new one opens.

“Of course, supporters will still be able to buy online during that time but we felt it was right to extend the early bird period to give everyone extra time to be able to buy at the cheapest price.”

We have introduced a flat rate for Season Tickets of £249 for adults who buy in the early-bird period, which is £96 cheaper than a standard zone Season Ticket last season and equates to less than £11 per match.

There is no longer a premium zone at the Ricoh Arena as blocks 19, 20 and 21 will enjoy standard zone pricing, while the family zone is moving to blocks 23 and 24 in the East Stand.

And our commitment to attracting the next generation of Coventry City supporters remains firm, with Junior Sky Blues (JSBs) under the age of 12 eligible for a free Season Ticket in the family zone.

JSBs aged between 12 and 16 have seen their Season Tickets in the family zone reduced to £23, which is just £1 per game.

Concessions Season Tickets have also dropped to £191 from £230 in the standard zone last season, and that equates to just over £8 per game.

Some people strangely enough have family holiday commitments to pay for first before they are selfish enough to buy a season ticket, with the early bird extended it gives those people a few more days to balance the books.
It also gives the club a few more days to see what the commitment of the fans is ...ie season ticket sales so they then know how much dosh they have to spend on players!!

What the club should do is announce that our first new signing of the season will be unveiled in the club shop on the day of opening. Make it a big event, when people finish their shop in Tesco or wherever they might see a large number of people and decide to come in and see what's going on, get these people inside the shop supporting and buying stuff.

Or is that not viable?

I'm in the final stages of buying a house and I'm working loads of overtime. Plus it's tricky to find a day me and my dad are both available, so we were going to leave it and just get normal price season tickets in July. So this is great news for us.

I hope that's ok with you.

Was always going to happen :)

Of course it was, the deadline has been extended before. Normal business practise.

I think ST sales will end up about 4500.

For early bird or overall? I'd hope it's more than that overall. I think you'll get a little surge in the last 2-3 days of early bird.

We should have kept them at the old prices then as we're not attracting old / new fans .. The club would have sold that many at the old price ,

They've said that quite a lot of sales are from new fans or those returning after at least a season away.

I've decided I am not going to get a season ticket this year. Work can sometimes stop me going to a few games, and the match day prices are very reasonable this year. Plus it gives me the option of going to a few cov rugby games if I wish.

I've got the 'student' price this year so at £8 a game I almost can't complain if the results are as crap as last season. Almost.

i wanted to do that but cant be assed with someone stopping me asking for proof at every game. they should jsut accept it when you buy the ticket.

Think the stricter checks came in as the proportion of kids & students tickets went up dramatically making it obvious people who should be paying full price weren't.

I had to show it when buying the ST, but you reckon I'll need the NUS card with me each game too?
