Burbage - olympics doesnt come into it with or without bad press. SISU have nothing to do with the ground, and people coming to watch olympics wont becoming to watch Coventry (lucky them). Plus the match day stewards WILL NOT be stewarding at the olympics. Im pretty sure the olympic commity will hire proper stewards, not the local clowns we have to endure each match day.

PUSB - CWR reported that stewards had been imstructed to take a hands off approach when it came to issues with flags. And if it only appeared for a few minutes, this is probably why there was no reaction.

I do agree it was a bit intimidating with the stewards lined up alongside block 15.

The stewards in block 15+16 check every week no change.
Been in 15 for years and never searched before yesterday...the muppet on our gate was trying to stop a kid (must have been 7 or 8 yrs old) from bringing in a little inflatable toy......what a twat

Told him to go get a real job, rather than harass kids....

They have been over the top since move ,its like the sport we watch has now become non contact ,as a fan you feel you may be ejected just for standing up shouting your support or deriding the ref or opposing team ,they are over the top ,have been from day one and , and spoil the matchday experience ,they have a very low view on football fans ,when compared to policing other events,we are their captive cashcow ,a boycott and protest outside would be interesting to see how ACL would police that. They have possibly lost CCFC 2.5-3000 fans due to matchday experience IMHO

They took my drink off me too, when I challenged him on it he told me "No can's, no glass bottles, and no aerosol's" then produced a can of lynx from his pocket to show me... I asked him why he was allowed to have an aerosol in his pocket if I wasn't allowed my drink, and then somewhat missing the point he said "you can light them like a flamethrower"

So beware of the stewards they are now armed with flamethrowers!!
My older brother used to turn into a pretty good flamethrower when he lit his arsehole whilst farting, oh sorry you said aerosol:facepalm:

"How to make friends and influence people."

Way to go. The fans that turn up at the Ricoh are city's best and diminishing asset. Although, I have no reason to mind my bag being searched for flaming aerosols and flasks of whiskey, its no way to treat loyal fans. Anyway this week I get the SISU OUT tattoo finished on my chest. :D

WB thats just so bizzare what do they think the're going to find in a womans handbag thats so dangerous or offensive ,as for childrens inflatables what on earth could be the issue there and the chance of that being the case must be next to nill.how about at the end of the season when our away end is occupied by bannanas ,crocodiles et al,why is every one so keen to defend what is unacceptable behaviour by a big organisation

That's not bizarre. Searching bags of any kind is one of the few things that does make sense, why would it be exempt from search because it's a handbag?

Don't know if your male or female ,i'm not but i beleive women are quite sensitive when it comes to handbags, the only reasonable excuse to search a womans handbag on entry to stadia or events is to prevent terrorism, not to prevent bringing drinks which are cheaper from outside etc,the bizzarre point related to inflatables which you chose to omitt.

I'd have thought it's obvious that I omitted the point about inflatables because I agree with you on that.

Checking bags is not bizarre however, and a handbag can conceal more than pockets so it'd be discriminatory towards men to not search women's bags. Equality and all that.

tommyatkins informs us that ACL pay the 'goons', so why then are they removing the anti-sisu material, are we saying that ACL are told what to do by sisu ?

Are these goons coventry people? I would be ashamed to take a job like that. But then again i suppose its the only job these fookwits can do.

No other entertainment business treats its customers with such contempt. If results gets us relegated this season, the club will be asking for customer loyalty the following season. Well it will be no good the club moaning about lack of support as the contempt will be on the other foot so to speak. what goes round comes round.

It would seem strange if ACL employed and directed the stewards. Surely it is the club that decides how many are needed for each match and what they are needed for.

Not sure how a banner is more of a fire risk than say a shirt. Do they check that everyone is wearing non flammable clothes?

All in all heavy handed security does nothing to enhance the matchday experience and will only serve to drive already pitiful crowd numbers down. That should help the club to stay solvent.

Clearly they have learnt nothing from the mistakes of the McGinnity era.

What a contrast just watching Norwich, mostly standing during the game ,and their orange clad personel calmly observed but preferred to let them enjoy themselves ,how easy it can be to earn you're seven to eight £ per hr

Do you know who else was just following orders?

The Nazi's

Bit of a lame argument. So nobody else obeys orders? You don't obey instructions at work. Doctors don't obey their oaths? I assume you drive? You follow the Highway Code? You Nazi, you.

These stewards are no more "goons", then everyone on this site is "goon" belonging to someone else.

Treat them courteously and they will respond accordingly

Although probably only put to get a reaction, he's not saying they are as bad as the Nazis. You know that. He's just being confrontational, really.

Where the analogy maybe bears some fruit is the fact that, yes, we all obey orders and do things we don't want to 'cos it's our job. However...

The goons were not, in my experience, regretting their orders one jot-just as the Nazi footsoldier generally believed in the ideology he was carrying out! There was no regret, no apology, no concern for the customer.

The searches were done with relish, just like the chucking of the banner on the floor against Watford. It has sent out a clear signal to me-I am the enemy.

Not a stakeholder, not the heartbeat of the club, not the whole reason the entire farago takes place in the first place. I am nothing to the owners of this football club other than a dissenter and potential criminal who must be searched, patronised and watched like a hawk. You would have to assume they don't need me, or want me putting my hand in my pocket to help to fund their disastrous mismanagement. I wonder how much of my ST as a % goes on old Kenny boys consultancy fees?!

How about the goons try treating us courteously? I paid my effing money, I expect a bit of service-not to bow and scrape to a Neanderthal ape who is getting paid to indulge in his bully fantasies.

Mmm, I particularly like the last sentence. Bit of a beat-poetry feel. I might try ranting it to some moody background music, John Cooper Clark stylee :D

and still the question is not answered, if ACL are paying the 'orange types' as per tommya's edict why are they acting in such a way with regard to the 'sisu out' protests ?
who is giving the orders here ?
why are CCFC fans being treated like this ?
in this democrative society are we not allowed to express our opinion ?
why have the board said nowt ?
i would much rather it be all about how CCFC could go forward and become a positive outfit, i do however feel that there are too many economic truth's being put forward and too few real facts !
over to you sisu and let's hear the next version

PUSB, our CCFC

"still the question is not answered, if ACL are paying the 'orange types' as per tommya's edict why are they acting in such a way with regard to the 'sisu out' protests ?"

And the answer remains the same, as issued by ACL - they do not want protests inside the stadium

Really? Ever considered the feelings of one of the stewards who is Jewish?

Surely you mean treat them courteously communicating in a series of grunts and ugg's, otherwise they will whack you over the head with a big club and throw you out of the cave.

Morning, Otis.

I quite agree. Treat fans how they deserve. Good point :claping hands:

Thinking about it.....it might be worth taking the advice from GMK and bringing a "SISU In!" flag to the next game.

That will test whether or not there is any prejudice involved.

Well it would be the politically correct thing to do.

So for every "Ken The Tanned Muppet" flag there should be a "Ken I want your babies" flag.
